Could you please look at my itinerary and make suggestions? I appreciate any help, the brunch recs were awesome!
Traveling with my sister and my mom. Mom hasn't been to a major city outside of Vegas. We all like to be very active on our vacations, with little to no downtime.
Friday -
Everyone arrives in Boston at 8:30 pm
Take T to hotel
Cheers (for mom) for supper, approx 1 mile from hotel, take T half way there, then walk. Cab back.
Saturday -
Southend Buttery Sam Adams Tour Ducks Tour Downeast Cider House for tour.
Sunday -
Easter Brunch at Boston Chops
Boston Public Gardens
Cambridge, Harvard Square, MIT, etc
Boston Burger Co.
Monday -
Modern Pastry Whale watch
Quincy Market (Faneuil Hall) Paul Revere House Union Oyster House
Thanks! I'm sure we can skip Cheers. Suggestions for somewhere to get a quick supper around 10 pm?
We're staying in Copley Square.
Going to check out the student led tours!
I agree with RocknVoll's suggestions:)
For dinner by Copley I really like City Table in the Lenox Hotel and Salty Pig which is right across from Back Bay station behind Copley Place. City Table I would def make reservations for a Friday night.

I noticed on Sunday you have cambridge/harvard and Boston burger company. Is that in Davis square? Mr Bartleys burger is in harvard square and is also pretty tasty.
You might just want to confirm that those places are open on easter. I will never forget one year on easter my sister came to visit in Salem and a ton of places were closed and we had to get pizza.
Friday - Take BACK BAY EXPRESS SHUTTLE to hotel (the T will be 3 modes of transport, 2 lines, 2 exchanges - bus to Blue, change to Orange at State, then to Back Bay Station). It will be roughly the same price and less hassle. Cab will be easiest but most expensive - around $35.
Dinner -Don't eat there. Really. Stop by Cheers when you go through the Public Garden instead. Go somewhere in the South End or Back Bay. Good places around 10pm - Parish Cafe for awesome sandwiches and beer, Salty Pig, Lolita (Mexican - fun atmosphere), or Atlantic Fish. You should be ok going to any of these places at 10pm.
Saturday - Southend Buttery (awesome!) Sam Adams Tour (this is in Jamaica Plain and it fills up early because it's free. It's ok, nothing super awesome. Here is my post on the Sam Adams Tour bit.ly/199ZMii If you want to do beer, I would recommend Harpoon in the Seaport (get a pretzel) and then taking the Duck Tour from Science Park which will put you closer to Down East) Ducks Tour (from Science Park) Downeast Cider House for tour. Dinner at Eastern Standard by Fenway - you've gotta see Fenway!
Sunday - Easter Brunch at Boston Chops (good, but I think the owner is a douche lol) Boston Public Garden (it's singular. Boston Common and Public Garden. Both are singular and a huge pet peeve of locals Take pics at Cheers, walk through the Public Garden - down the bridge in the middle - so pretty! through to the Boston Common. Take the Red Line to Harvard Square. The T may be on a holiday schedule. Cambridge, Harvard Square, MIT, etc (Harvard Square is cute. I don't think it's worth checking out MIT) Boston Burger Co. (yum! Park restaurant is also really good in Harvard Square)
Monday - North End - including Modern Pastry AND Mike's (taste test both). Old North Church (Paul Revere's ride allegedly started there), and walk the Freedom Trail around. Whale watch (it's going to likely be too cold for this) Quincy Market (Faneuil Hall) - Continued from Freedom Trail walk Paul Revere House (skip it, not worth it and will backtrack you - if you want to go, do this after pastries because it's in the North End) Union Oyster House (hit up Bell in Hand next door for the oldest bar in the US - Sam Adams makes a beer just for them - you can't even get it at the brewery)
Tuesday - Salem maybe or North End - I would walk around Beacon Hill since you will have been in the North End already but up to you.
Wednesday - Fly out crazy early (I'd take the Back Bay express again - it leaves from the library on the hour, :20 and :40).

If its too cold for the whale watch but you want a boat ride, consider taking the ferry to Salem on Tuesday. Although now that I mention it, I don't know if it runs in the winter....my H and I used to mix it up and take it home from work sometimes in the summer when we lived up there. There was nothing more fun on a beautiful day than riding home on the ferry with a beer.
If you can't take the ferry, you can take the commuter rail to Salem. The schedule is online at www.mbta.com. It's the newburyport/rockport line. If you need recs for Salem, let me know. I love the Peabody Essex Museum, and then you should visit the House of the Seven Gables. The witch museum is really not that great IMO. The witch house is better. www.salem.org/ is the official city tourism guide.

I would have a really hard time choosing between Boston Burger and Mr. Bartley's. If you're going to be in Harvard Square and only going to Davis for the burger, probably not worth it. But if you do go to Davis for Boston Burger Company, save room for a cupcake at ... nevermind. Kickass Cupcakes is gone. Oh, woe.
Have fun in Boston! Bring some warm weather with you, if you have room in your suitcase!
If you have to do Cheers, just pop in to the one in Fanueil while you are there instead of the one by the Garden.
When you stroll through the Garden, walk up Charles Street stopping in all the shops along the way (about a half mile walk) until you get to the end which is the Charles/MGH stop on the red line. Take that into Cambridge.
If you go to Eastern Standard for dinner and they are too full, try Island Creek a couple doors down. Its awesome as well. Or go to Hawthorns n between the two and have a drink while you wait. Or ask to also be put on the list for a high top table at ES.
I would also do Harpoon over Sam Adams. Stop at Flour bakery on Farnsworth for lunch or Tavern Road or Row 34 on Congress for lunch. Or Pastoral for really good pizza, also on Congress. There are a few good places on Northern Ave in the Seaport like Temazecal and LTK.
You don't need a whole day for the North End. Combine it with Mike's pastries and whale watching-if you go. Its going to be pretty chilly. And rainy on Saturday, so maybe add the ICA to your itinerary as a back up. It in the Seeaport and the views of the Harbor as amazing.
I'm loving Boston and I never want to go home! I especially love the North End. We went to Bacco for supper then stopped at Mikes. So freaking good! Went to Flour for breakfast and I'd gladly eat there every single day for the rest of my life. A very nice man shared his table with us.

I'm glad you're having a good time! I find it to be a unique and charming city.

My nanny and our boys were at Flour this morning. They are there twice a week. I have a vegan chocolate muffin/cupcake at least once a week. Those things are so so so amazingly good. Their hot chocolate is the best ever as well. Go back and get some before you leave. There is a Flour on Clarendon, near the Back Bay T.
