Tuesday MU randoms

heyjude I like it. I think you can definitely wear that - it's just attention pulling as opposed to harmonious. Nothing wrong with that in my book though.

my further random is that Vespasia MADE ME buy the stila three-pack of cream blush thingies. I've been wanting one of those for months and months, and I went to check out with my re-stock of night cream like a good responsible girl and there they were. Mocking me. Tempting me.

So they're mine now. but I forgot that I also had a $10 birthday coupon, so I got it for $10 essentially. Not bad at all.

the darn checkout is what killed us.  Looking up my coupon, using my coupon, etc etc.   And perhaps the part where we both just wandered about staring at things as if we weren't supposed to be on some sort of mission...
My meeting started late btw, so I made it in plenty of time.  

Oh, also for the benefit of all - I dumped my collection of foil samples into the sample box, along with a bunch of perfume vials and some nice travel sized hair samples that just aren't for me (blowout spray, etc).  And in return I got red nail polish, two perfume vials I'll actually wear, and a burts bees chapstick.  I like the sample box.

It needs to go to somebody who has actually USES foil samples though - I never remember I have them so even when it's good stuff (like one with every sort of primer UD makes. Becca shimmering skin perfector. Hourglass foundation.) they just sit there unused.

Question... so I put "real" makeup on (mascara, eyeliner, red lipstick, foundation) for the rest time in many months today. Made my brows look pretty, and then got to wondering, when your hair color is significantly lighter than your brows, is it best to lighten them? I went blond from dark brown, and will be going platinum or near platinum tomorrow, though I can't really see having blond eyebrows.

I have this.

Quality of the shadows is fantastic.  Colors are really pretty and very blend able. I don't love it as a standalone palette though, I find if I want to use it, I need to pull in something from another palette to make it work.

My MAC lipsticks came, flat out fabulous is so pretty but I'm not sure i can pull it off. Ruby woo is lovely! Syrup will probably be my new day to day lip color.

Didn't end up buying any of the fabbo makeup deals I came across today.

I'm sure the LM palette box is fantastic and a great deal, but the thought of paying $60 for makeup right now gives me the heebiejeebies.

The Smashbox on the Rocks was pretty, but I have Cherry Smoke and UD Ammo, and I feel like it walks on the same path.

The MUFE ones were so pretty, I kinda couldn't decide... then I realized that I pretty much have all the colors in them... so I'd be buying them for the MUFE-ness of them (as the ones I have are WnW or Sleek or whatever)... which is probably good, but not in the NEED category.


I didn't even get into Ulta, really, as the boy child was all about sticking his finger into everything. So, out of there with quickness.


...also, the Target I was at today(not my usual one) not only had the usual makeup suspects (Revlon, Loreal, CG, elf), they had a huge Rimmel display, a lot of NYX, a WnW display (mine has none), NYC, LAColors (which I've heard nothing fantastic about, but still)... many many more brands than my local Target. What gives with that?

I think that orange is like red, in that I don't think it's fair to say that you can never ever wear the color. You just need to find the right orange (or red, or pink) for YOU.

Interesting, I thought it was great stand alone but I did use colors from the different mini palettes. In fact, if I find this at my Rack, I'm inclined to buy one to keep at work for when I don't have time to do my makeup at home.

Yes! The cake liner AND the flathead brush AND 2 eyeliners and 2 blushes and a bronzer in addition to those gorgeous eyeshadows.
