I hate touching up my lips at work. But I like having some color. I'm not a huge fan of long-lasting matte lipsticks for daytime, even though I know they'll stay put, my lips tend toward the dry side and I rarely want to do the prep required to have them go on nicely on a random Tuesday.
Which generally lands me on lip stains. (or lip butters) I like the Revlon balm stains. Honey and Crush are in heavy rotation.
I have some ulta brand marker style stains that I like. And the benefit family (benetint, lilli, posie), but I vastly prefer them on my cheeks to my lips.

Have you tried the Josie Maran ones? I've only played around with it in the store, but I really liked it. I'm planning to buy it in Poppy during the Sephora sale :-)

I really like J Cat Wonder Paint. It's a liquid formula and not nearly as drying as some others. It lasts several hours, and it's not terribly expensive.
I also have a Josie Maran in Berry and it lasts forever. But it is hard to apply, perhaps because it is so dark that it is hard to get an even, smooth coat. I think a lighter color would be easier. I might get a Poppy one.
The Smashbox lip lacquers go on glossy and fade to a never ending stain.

I like these, too! I had Smitten, it was a bright pink - very fun, but I lost it. I just checked the other one I have and it is Crush, like yours. It's more wearable than Smitten. :-)

I have the Wet n Wild Balm Stain in the red color, and I love it. It's a lovely red right after applying. Once it has worn off a bit it turns more of a bright (but pretty) pink. YMMV, but at least it's cheap! It really does stain my lips, which is more than I can say for other stains.
Why am I tempted by those YSL lip tints? I could buy the entire color range of the Revlon stain balms on sale for that price. But...I waaaaaaaaant it. I can turn down shadow any day, but put a cream blush or a moisturizing lip product in front of me and I MUST HAVE IT.
I need loreal to come out with the downmarket version.
