I want to paint my dinning room. I hate the color and its a mat finish so its not really wipable and with little dogs I'd like to be able to wipe the walls down periodically.
The door way off the left of the picture goes into my kitchen.
The whole room is open into my front room/ formal living room, that is painted the same color currently, and will probably stay that color because I don't mind it in that room.
My chairs are upholstered with this fabric and I have a table cloth that matches. I would like to maybe pick a color out of these colors.
I wouldn't do gold because of the light floor that butts up to the room. I'd do either a sagey green or maybe pull a lighter shade of the blue. Are the curtains staying? I also feel like the wall on the right (with the mirror) needs more. That table is too small.
ETA: I would get rid of the white storage thing in the corner & put something big enough to contain all of it on the mirror wall.

We are working on that. I'm trying to find a china cabinet that I like that isn't super expensive to replace it. The pictures are deceiving though because the room is fairly tiny. And my table isn't going anywhere. It's Duncan Phyfe and has 5 leafs and drop sides and it reminds me of my mom.
I would go with either the pale blue or the sage-y green. Unless you wanted to go more neutral, then go with the cream color and pull in the accents with the curtains and whatever wall hangings you put up.
I meant the table under the mirror was too small. Sorry, I should've specified. I like the idea of grey because then you might be able to keep the curtains. I'm not sure you could with a blue.

I hope they will hold the cabinet for you.
Okay I thought that it might have been my little half table you were talking about it after I posted.
I think I will go look at some grey paint samples tomorrow, I really would like to keep my curtains.
Feel free to tell me to STFU, but I keep coming back to figure out what feels off about the picture. I think it's the tablecloth. Is the table in good enough condition to take it off? My eye goes straight there & it's distracting. A nice centerpiece (you could DIY) and some table settings would help with the overall look I think.

So L I'm trying to figure out something to do in the milk glass piece I have in the center if the table but I have no idea what to do. Its a little on the shallow side and I'd like to do flowers or something. Ugh I have no idea. And as far as the table, the table cloth changes constantly. My husband is a messy eater so I just keep one on the table until it needs a washing and then switch. I do take it off occasionally but normally its just us so I don't really feel the need for it to be exposed because I'm doing my best to protected the wood because its like over 80 plus years old and an antique.

But your H doesn't eat 24/7 (and also he's a grown up so he should be able to eat more neatly than a tablecloth warrants) so the tablecloth should be able to go if you have a gorgeous antique table under it. The pattern is just too distracting in the grand scheme of things. Could your H do placemats instead? That will protect the table from the china and food spills and you could put them on as part of the table setting rather than using them as a design element. I honestly think the fabric is just too much "current" (the colors as much as the style) considering the traditional pieces you have. It's just not something I would have picked. I know you're going eclectic with the cabinet but all the rest of your pieces are very cherry/mahogany/traditional and I'd go with something a bit more traditional in scope and style.
I would go with a green-based gray for the walls. I would be pro-gold but with the natural hardwoods I don't think it would set off the wall colors well unless you went with a darker gold as the base (which would look good against the white, too. (My house is primarily gold-toned walls so I'm biased but my floors are stained a little darker and they're oak so heavily grained. My cabinetry and trimwork is a pecan color so it's rather cinnamon and the red tones set off well against the gold walls. I think the natural floors wouldn't have the same results.
For the milk-glass, try some low and trailing flowers or a small fruit arrangement (preferably real fruit. ) Or take a picture or the bowl into Michael's or JoAnn's or a florist and see what they suggest. Or see if you can find some other milk-glass pieces in different heights/shapes/sizes and make a small arrangement.
ETA: to add more thoughts because my brain is rambling.

Okay the table cloth will go into hiding!
I like the idea of a blue or gray/green. I don't want to do gold because that's just not us and we have light tiled floors in the dinning room and then the adjoining front living room has light bamboo floors so the gold would look funny.
