I left my job a month ago. Before I left I submitted a final expense report for about $25. The company still has not paid this and the bill is now 2 weeks past due. I am furious. I have reached out to my HR business partner regarding this twice and have heard nothing back. I do not feel like I should be responsible for this bill but it looks like they have for some reason decided not to pay it. Should I just pay it so I do not incur more late fees and finance charges, or is there some other course of action I should take.
I would call Amex and explain and see what they advise. I haven't had a corporate Amex in a while, but back when I did they were super lenient about being late and such (with the assumption that a lot of people are waiting for large expense reimbursements before they pay).
I'd also ask Amex to close the account or whatever they do to get rid of corporate cards.
I just got off the phone with Amex. They said this balance won't incur late fees and since it is a corporate card it doesn't get reported to credit bureaus. They did give me the contact name of the person who is responsible for the corporate Amex account I will reach out to them tomorrow.
