I am going to a few weddings in the coming months, and I am terrible at doing hair. I plan to get it done. I am either wearing a strapless or one-shoulder dress.
Can you please PIP or LIP some hairstyles that would go well with the dresses?
FWIW, I have hair just past my shoulders. Both weddings are evening weddings, and I'm assuming it'll be cooler (temp wise).
the messy side bun LOOKS complicated, but is actually very simple. it is now my favorite for weddings.
here is how I do it: 1. curl hair all over with a 1" or 3/4" curling iron. pin the curls as you release them from the iron to let them set. 2. after the entire head is curled and the pin curls are cooled, take hair down and run your fingers through to loosen. 3. make a side part and pull hair into a loose ponytail and tie with a small ponytail holder (I like the little clear ones for this and I don't loop them around my hair more than once). I pull my hair to the opposite side of my part. as in, if I part my hair over my left ear, then the pony is next to my right ear. 4. loose wind your pony around the base, pinning as you go, like a ballerina bun. since this is supposed to messy, it doesn't have to be perfect. it's okay if a few pieces fall out. my hair has a tendril right above my left ear that usually falls out and I leave it. I may touch it up with the iron.
that's it! it sounds complicated, but once I have my hair curled, it literally takes 5 minutes. I usually let my hair air dry into its natural curls/waves, and just touch up the crown and hairline with the iron to save even more time.

Here is my hair I wore with a one- shoulder dress. I used a large barrel curling iron to curl it all and then I flipped my hair upside down a few times and sprayed it.
