Seriously though, we're at our wits' end. DS is 9 months and has never been a great sleeper. He got better between 4-6 months and was down to 1-2 wakeups a night, then the teething hit and he's been a mess since. I'm his crutch and he always nurses to sleep, wakes up multiple times, and sometimes takes 2 hours to fall back to sleep. Last week was especially brutal.
I've read the Sleep Easy Solution and have been gradually weaning him off the motn feedings. He's not completely weaned but I don't want to push off the training anymore.
He recently began to say Mama pretty consistently. If I don't respond to his crying fast enough he'd start calling out mamamamama and it just makes it harder to deal with his cries.
Please tell me your success stories and that we can do this.
The first night was rough, but it got easier pretty fast for us. By the 3rd night it was only like 2 minutes of crying. My son still had MOTN wake ups, but the beautiful part was being able to lay him back down after nursing for a few minutes - no more hour long ordeals trying to get him back to sleep.

Good luck! The first night is tough, but it gets easier. DD still cries a bit, but its usually less than a couple minutes before she's asleep. Middle of the night is so much easier now too. She might wake up once and its nursing for a couple minutes then back in the crib. No more 1.5 hours awake with her.
We're starting tonight too! Can I hijack your thread with some questions?
He still needs to eat MOTN. Once he wakes up, do I nurse, then lay him back down and start the CIO intervals over again?
Right now he's sleeping in a Magic Sleep Suit. Should I just get it over with all at once, and ditch the suit too?
Is it irresponsible to be in charge of night 1 of sleep training while a little drunk? Because...I'm not really sure I can handle it any other way, LOL.
