Ok, so I don't wear makeup, but I am getting ready to do a bunch of interviews and I want to wear a little so that I look professional.
I plan on wearing foundation, mascara, and lip gloss.
Anyway, I have a handle on removing the foundation, but I am clueless on the mascara. I think I need the process explained to me like I'm 5. I read the eye makeup remover thread below, but I don't get how to use the products. I am intrigued by the ponds cream, but how do you apply that to your lashes? Or is a wipe better?

I find that wipes make me tug too much (even if they work well, I still tug), which can cause irritation and exacerbate wrinkles.
I really like pur-lisse soy milk cleanser. Most eye makeup removers can just be wiped off with a tissue, but I use them before I wash my face so I can rinse them all the way off. Ponds works the same way, and it's really moisturizing. So apply with your fingertips, massage gently to get the mascara off, and either wipe away or rinse.
I just get a little eye makeup remover on a cotton pad or ball and then gently wipe it downwards over my (closed) eyelid and lashes. Following that with my facial cleanser usually gets all traces of mascara off my face.
I basically do the same as nsl. Just pour a bit of cleanser onto a cotton pad, then place the cotton pad on my closed eye. I usually hold it there for a couple of seconds and then gently swipe.
I find patience to be helpful, regardless of the remover. I soak a cotton pad with my remover (I use Bioderma Sensibio), then hold it on my eye for about 10 seconds. That melts off a lot of the mascara and then I can just sort of pat at it to get the rest off the skin under my eye.

I just scrub my (closed) eyes when I'm washing my face with regular face wash. It gets everything off well enough. If there's any left over mascara smudged under my eyes, I just wipe it off with some face lotion.
When I do use makeup remover, I just put some on a cotton ball, then wipe it across my eyelashes with closed eyes.

I use a non-oily make up remover on a thick cotton pad and wipe down to remove it. Then I go over any traces of mascara, especially the ones embedded in the lashes with a q-tip dipped in remover. That way all of it is off. My eyes are sensitive and I need to remove it all off or I get puffy.
