House goes on the market 8/28 and the photographer is coming over to make my place look like House Beautiful on 8/22, so the next couple weeks will be really getting to the heart of cleaning the place out.
This weekend has been spent with the downstairs---some of the stuff up in the closets hasn't been moved for six years. Achoo! I'm clearing out the rooms and dumping the "keep" stuff in the middle of the family room. I'll box up the stuff I want to keep and I'll take some of it to my storage area tonight, and the rest will go over tomorrow. It looks like a bomb went off in the family room, but the guest bedrooms are looking great!
I found eight of DH's button down shirts that had been freshly startched just a day or two before he died. They're going to the Goodwill. I can't believe it's been almost five years.
Anyway, next weekend will be devoted to boxing up a bunch of stuff from the upstairs, and then comes the cleaning.
The photographer is over on the 22nd, I'm taking the day off on the 23rd to do the finishing touches on the house before the masses start tromping through my house, plus I'll be packing for my DC trip, and then it's to DC (and eventually Oregon) on the 24th. Go me!

That's a big task! And good to do when you're in a cleanout mood. It's hard when I get sentimental in the middle of a project like that.
I can't believe it's almost 5 years either. It's probably creepy for me to admit this, but I hung around that morning/day instead of going to do a few things in case you needed to talk.

Are the trips for work or fun?
T! It wasn't creepy of you to do that at all. The shock put me in a fog--I wasn't really capable of much thought except to post periodically. I wouldn't wish what I went through on my worst enemy. I appreciated, and still appreciate, all the support you and everyone else gave me on that day, and the days that followed.
The DC trip is a work-related women's conference; the Orygun trip is for fun. : ) I decided to time putting it on the market around the time I was going to be away from the house. It wouldn't have been fun to have all the realtors tromping around while I was there. I guess we're going to have one open house on Sept. 8th. Hopefully that'll be the only one we have. lol

And we shall meet in the washington/Oregon area when your all moved down.
I hear the microbrews in Portland are incredible!
Also I'm forcing you to be friends with me.
Hey I'd be happy to be your designated driver if we went to the microbreweries in Portland. It just so happens I'll be in Portland during my Oregon trip but my layover is like an hour or so.
