I had what I thought was a contraction early in the day. Haven't really had anything until today. Then I had my bloody show. I've been timing contractions for the last hour and they're lasting about a minute and are roughly 5 minutes apart. So, basically exactly what my doctor said to let happen before calling. They hurt, but aren't really that bad. I don't want to go to the hospital and be sent away. Did you follow the 5/1/1 rule or wait longer than that?

First pregnancy my water broke, I took a shower, we went to the hospital and I had a c-section. I never had a single contraction, lol. Sorry, not helpful! Do you have an after hours number for your doctor's office?

I do. There's a doctor on call. I don't know, I just feel weird calling right now. I feel like things should feel worse before going to the hospital, ya know?

Exciting! Both of my boys were born about 24 hours after my bloody show. I went to the hospital when my contractions stopped me in my tracks and made me have to focus on my breathing. Try to get some sleep and if they wake you up, think about going.
Call and see. They'll probably tell you to come in.
I had fast labors both times - not everyone is there for 20 hours before having a baby. less than 24 hours ago I was debating about calling and went in and had a baby a couple of hours later.

Are you having to breathe through them?
Yes. Only for the first half minute or so, then it tapers off.

With DS3, I didn't think my contractions hurt, but they were very consistent. They had me come in and I had my c-sec that evening. If you aren't worried I'd try to get some sleep if you can, if they wake you up then I'd head in!

I don't think sleeping is happening. I tried to go to bed around 10, but they were strong enough to keep me awake, so I started timing again a little before 11.
Both of my labors I went in wth strong contractions thinking I was going too early and they would send me home. The first time my water had broken and they kept me because I was group b positive. The second time I walked in at 6cms and was shivering through transition. You should definitely go in to be checked!

Call. I think they can also tell from your voice on the phone if you should come in or not.
I was super calm when I called the second labor. When I went in to triage they asked me what pain number I was on the scale and I said 8 (this was not during a contraction so I was relaxed) and the nurse didn't really believe me until she checked me and saw I was 6cms
