I bought a big fancy hat at Goorin Bros. last year. It's brown straw with a red grosgrain ribbon band. The band is attached to the hat.
If I want to wear the hat with something that doesn't match red, do I just put another ribbon/scarf thingy over the attached band? Or do they intend for you to remove the other one? I'm thinking I could use a fancy pin to keep the new ribbon on top, maybe.

I guess it depends on how the ribbon is attached. If it's sewn on really well (or glued), I would probably just put the other scarf over it and maybe pin it on (or use a couple of pieces of double-sided tape to make sure it stays in place). However, if the current ribbon is just tacked down with a few stitches here and there and you think you might want to change ribbons/scarves a lot, I'd go ahead and remove it.
The ribbon is tacked on with a few stitches in 4 places, so I could snip it off, but I'm worried that it wouldn't stay on again if I did that. I'm going to try wrapping over top with some double-sided tape. Thanks!
