WWSND: Splitting gifts when some givers are couple

W wants to get a bunch of her brothers and sisters to pool up for a big birthday gift for one of her brothers. Nobody's in school and everyone is doing okay money-wise, but two of them/us are married/engaged (W&I and one brother Ma and his fiance Mi). Should the couples contribute double or extra to the gift?

I think each sibling and sibling+couple should contribute the same amount. No extra married people taxes, the government taxes us enough

This. That's what we've always done when we go in on gifts for our parents.

We go equals or it doesn't happen. I also quit being the one to "buy" because collecting from my brothers turned into a hassle.
