Mine was more than a D&C, technically--I went to the ER, was admitted to the hospital overnight, and D&C was performed the next evening. So, the bill included all kinds of IV pain medications, a confirmation ultrasound, a catheter, and labwork you probably won't need.
Total bill was close to $11,000. I paid $100 OOP. We have excellent insurance.
I would also recommend getting put under completely. I don't think I would want to have the potential to be aware of anything at all going on during a D&C.
Mine was $15, just a normal office visit co-pay. I also paid $5 for meds to take in preparation.
I think twilight will be fine. I've had procedures done under twilight, and had total memory loss. I had a clear memory of waiting in bed beforehand, and then a clear memory of "waking up" long after everything was done. Recovery was very quick and easy.
I had my D&C done under local only. It took less than 10 minutes and was slightly more painful than a pap smear. For me, it wasn't terrible.

Mine was $15 - a copay. I had twilight sleep, but I remember nothing and I went home a few hours later. My twilight experience was exactly like pp's. I remember everything before and after, and nothing during, with a very easy recovery.
Mine was about $10,000, but insurance covered it 100%, thank God. I can't remember what type of anesthesia I had, but it was done in a hospital and I was completely under for the procedure and woke up in recovery.

It will vary wildly based on your insurance. We have a HD plan and met our max. What drove up the cost were all the separate bills from the center, my OB, anesthesiologist, testing lab, etc. I had it at an outpatient surgery center, was fully under and went home about an hour later.

I believe it was a hospital copayment and then fee to the OB. I never get a separate bill for anes., even with the c-s. I was fully sedated, put in recovery where I waited for OB to come talk to me. I went home later that same morning. I am sorry you are going through this. It sucks.
