I was reading the comments to a makeup tutorial (highly recommended, BTW) and people were ripping on a MUA for an IG shot that very clearly showed her face as much darker than the backs of her hands. The commenters were citing this as proof that this MUA doesn't know what the hell she is doing when it comes to makeup.
I've long had a color differential so I didn't find this weird at all. My foundation looks insane on the back of my hands but it blends beautifully on my face.
What say you?
ETA: for those of you on the app, there is a poll attached. Options are (1) yes; (2) no, lighter than; (3) no, darker than; and (4) SS.

If you wear face stuff with SPF, your face should theoretically be lighter than your hands. As long as your face matches your neck, I don't see what your hands have to do with anything.
My face is a bit darker and pinker than the rest of my body.
My Nordstroms beauty consultation is next weekend, and I'm looking forward to finding out how one is supposed to pick a foundation when the natural face color is darker than the neck.
My face and hands look like they belong to 2 different people. My face and my neck/chest are very different as well.
My hands are super pale and pink, and my face is medium. The difference is stark, to say the least.
Also, my face is getting darker with age, despite my obsessive use of sunscreen. Ten years ago my face makeup was for the fairest skin tone available. Now I'm a medium. I tried using some of my old Bobbi Brown face powder this morning and it made me look like a vampire.
