Come to think of it I'm always ragey when I post here. You all probably think I need a therapist by now.
Anyway, in the past 24 hours DH and I have almost been hit twice on the Harley by people that were in their own little world or in a crazy hurry. This morning I dropped DH off at duty and on my way home some girl did a u-turn in a totally inappropriate location and I had to slam on my brakes to the point where my car skidded and I was like a foot away from hitting her. She was texting or doing something on her phone. She had then pulled off the road and I thought about stopping to remind her it was illegal to do that on base but I'm sure she already knows that with all the signs they post and obviously still insists on being a jack ass so I went home to write this to make me feel better.
I'm not just a ragey person. I just share here when I can't share with DH because he's too overprotective and would get super mad about that girl.
AND it was an illegal u-turn so there's that too...
Can I be ragey too? So all my gear and uniforms are stored in big plastic boxes. Neatly. Sorted by type. Today, I woke up to them dumped all over the floor because H "needed" the boxes for work today. No. No. No. Get your damn fucking work to buy their own shit. I texted him and he was like, "I'm sorry, I had hoped to get home and put them back and fix it before you noticed." HA! Maybe don't leave the door open to the spare room with the light on then genius.
Seriously? And what could they possibly have needed them for anyway that involved less than 24 hours of storage? I'm just curious.
People here are terrible drivers too. They don't yeild at the end of an on-ramp. Everyone expects the person in the right lane to yeild to merging traffic. Dafuq?

It was a function for high school juniors and their parents. My uniform boxes are now wet from holding ice and water bottles. You can likely imagine my sneer.
*sigh* ^o)
-Brownie points for sure. No excuse for any of that.

OMFG.
I just can't.
Rage is my number one pregnancy emotion.
Stan: I would be piiiiiisssssed. No no no. no. If you want I'll help you hide the body.
meltoine: That is the exact opposite of here. They just yield (by that, I mean stopping completely) at the beginning of the on ramp, and wait for traffic to clear, instead of, you know, trying to actually merge. It gives me rage.
Dory1988: That would make me so mad. I might have said something, but my filter has definitely loosened lately. I saw a car accident happen a few days ago when someone wanted to turn left onto a 4 lane highway. It was close to rush hour and people drive high speeds on this road. I was in the "slow lane" and the lady in front of me yielded to this person wanting to turn out onto the street. No one was looking at the other lane, and this fancy red sports car, minding it's own business, slams into the person making the turn. She couldn't stop fast enough, the person turning left came out of nowhere for her. UGH. The whole time I was like, "this children, is why we have rules".

Since this is the feeling ragey thread I'm going to add my own from today.
Received a notice from apartment management on Friday afternoon that they planned to enter every unit as part of an annual inspection with a 3rd party contractor in tow. The notice gave a two day window (8am-5pm) each day that the inspection could happen, stated that tenants do not need to be home for them to enter and that animals should be removed from premises or restrained if the tenants will not be home.
Well, I insist on being home. I basically almost never grant permission for someone to enter my place of living without me being present. Yesterday I was busy so I went in today to discuss setting an appointment or, worst case scenario request a courtesy call before they plan to enter so that I can lock my cats up or tell them to wait if my child is sleeping.
Long story short they refused to help me out with my request and really came across as incredible ass-hats with really no customer service strategies.
So I went home and put my contact info on a piece of paper and took it to them and told them to keep it for tomorrow. Then I went to Home Depot and bought a burglar bar for my front door. My lease says that they may "peacefully enter" in nonemergency situations "by duplicate or master key (or by breaking a window or other means when necessary)" so I figure I will hold them to that if they decide not to call me first. And they better bring a ladder since I have no first floor windows.
The situation just chaps my ass because I've rented from 6 other places in my adult life, some that managed thousands of units, and not a one had this much difficulty meeting a reasonable request to set an appointment or call first before entering my home.
Edit: I just finished reviewing California Civil Code and they have no premise for entering without my express permission for the reasons that they specified in their notice which was also insufficient according to the law as it failed to specify an approximate time of entry. So me and my burglar bar are well within our right to sleep in tomorrow and the next day if we so choose.
