Hey ladies, Maybe someone has some insight for me. So recently my makeup has started to look really chalky by mid day, and feels so gross by the time I get home, I've been removing it almost as soon as I walk through the door. This is new to me, and I haven't changed products. I've been trying different face combos to no avail. I think maybe it has to do with my new office, like it's super dry there or something (my contacts are usually killing by day end too).
Any thoughts on what to try to look fresh faced all day? In the photo, I tried mixing my foundation with my moisturizer. I've tried just foundation, just cc cream, foundation/powder...all with the same results. Also, I use UD setting spray.
Have you tried a hydrating spray? I really like the avene thermal spring water. It's like a setting spray but it's just water (french water! But water). I've also been trying the Mario Badescu rose water but that's too new for me to form an opinion. In either case, the water helps the powder feeling dissipate and the makeup sort of melts into the face (in a good way) and leaves a dewy look. You can do it throughout the day.
How does your skin feel without makeup? Is it normally dry? If so you may also want to examine your skin care routine and products and make sure it's good for dry skin.
Thanks heyjude my skin is normally not dry or oily...it's just right. Which is maybe why I have no idea what to do. The hydrating spray might be what I need to try though, especially if I can apply throughout the day. I'm sure it's my office though because my face doesn't dry on the weekends.
Another suggestion -- Do you use primer? Try one formulated for dry skin. Samples are easy to come by if you are near a Sephora. Smashbox and Nars both have them. The MUFE one is also good for dry skin.
The suggestion heyjude suggested, avene thermal spring water. Is nice.
I recently started using a rose water blend from a local to me shop. Someone mentioned rose water the day before I stumbled upon it. So I snagged it for $9 and it's been working great.
