And wow this board has really taken flight! Hooray! So much fun.
So AWing here a bit but, a few asked for an update soooo...
DH and I did two nights of camping, and three nights in an adorable historic b&b in Oregon for our anniversary...so lovely guys.
We white water rafted (my first time!) on the Rogue River, only class 3 rapids so I wouldn't freak out, but I looooved it, we also enjoyed swimming in the river and sunbathing.
After the camping/outdoorsy portion, we had a great time in Ashland where we did a spa day--like a sweet hearts romance package lol--name was cheesy but the services rocked. Massages, aromatherapy bath, sugar body scrub, and shower. Followed by awesome dinner, and Henry V at the Shakespeare fest.
I have two weeks off work, and my husband and I are going to spend 2 days in Bath (England), then 3 days in Isle of Wight, stopping at Stonehenge on the way between the two. When we get back, he has knee surgery....
Villain- We went to Stonehenge last year and planned to spend quite a bit of time. I think we were there for an hour....it was amazing, but doesn't require a lot of time just an FYI
We've both been to stonehenge separately, but want to go together, and this is a good opportunity.
Funny story about the last time I went...I had been in England for like 3 weeks (this was before H came over) and had some training to attend in Cornwall. I just punched the address into my GPS and started driving, and really didn't pay attention to what route I was going to take. I ended up driving right past Stonehenge!!! If I could have come to a screeching halt, I would have...but instead I went to the next roundabout and turned around and went back, and spent a few hours there. The weather was awesome and I got some good photos:-) This time, it looks like the weather will be not-so-awesome, so we'll see how long we end up staying...
I spent part of my junior year of college in England; lived in Manchester and traveled up and down from Edinburgh to London. I loved Bath, but I loved almost everything about England. Such history! I couldn't get over that I was touching/walking structures that had been there for a thousand years. I miss England!!
We're going to the PNW on our road trip, maybe I'll post again for reco's, but sounds like you had a great time villain!
LOVE the PNW. I was born in Oregon (only lived there till I was five) so I guess it's kind of in my blood. One of th major perks to being in the military is that I can get stationed just about ANYWHERE (especially if I'm open to different types of jobs and am creative with my career planning). PNW is definitely on the list!!!

We're not 100 percent sure if we'll be able to afford it (also depends on if/when I get knocked up) but if all goes as planned we'll have a family reunion over Christmas in Newberg, Oregon. A good chunk of the family lives in Tacoma and Redmond, WA, so I'm hoping to go home with them until New Years as the last time I've been in Seattle was 16or 17 years or so ago.
