1. What's the rationale behind no snacking? I understand they want you to eat enough at meals to be full and satiated but why? Does it affect metabolism? Is there really a huge difference in eating my banana at 8am with the rest of my breakfast or at 10am by itself?
2. Speaking of bananas - they are ok to eat. Yet freezing it and blending it like fro-yo is a no-no? Because it will remind me too much of ice cream and make me go off the deep end? Huh?
I'm going to download the book today and try to understnand some of the rationales, but in the meantime I thought is post here. Many thanks.
I'm going to have to read that over again because I'm still confused about the snacking Tom Denham said when he started he ate 5 to 6 meals a day.
A "snack" is usually not balanced the way a meal is. A meal would follow the meal template: protein, fat, veggies, sometimes fruit. A "snack" is generally less balanced. In your example, the banana. It is not a source of fat or protein, nor are there any veggies.

Thank you this is making more sense.
So in the beginning while my body is still getting used to this and if I feel a true hunger I can eat a 'snack' as long as it follows a meal structure?

I hope to eventually follow 3 meals/day.
Yes, absolutely. If you feel hungry, eat a small meal that still fits the template. One way to decide whether it's emotional vs. physical hunger is to think of a bland meal: like baked fish and steamed broccoli. If you are hungry enough to eat that, then you are physically hungry.
