I think it's carnauba wax that we or I or whatever is allergic to.
I've been wearing one WnW formula for ages, the one that pretty persimmon is. Recently I bought four more of that formula and three of the silk finish one and after two days of wearing Silk Finish, my lips did the weird thing they haven't done since before MUT.
So I googled the ingredients for both products and Carnauba Wax seems to be the difference. I then googled the other stuff I've been wearing and stuff that I've had issues with before and it seems to fit.
There is only one exception though and that's Nyx Matte Lipstick. I wear that and it's got carnauba wax in it. But I really don't think I've worn it more than one day in a row. In fact, I think I've only worn it once.
After my lips have been cleared up for a while though, I'm going to try the matte lipstick for a few days and see what happens.

What do your lips do when you wear a lip product that contains carnauba? I've experienced about a dozen or so allergic reactions to various lip balms and lip sticks since '05. They swell and get very tingly and dry for about 7-10 days. I have to be careful when buying/trying out new lip products.

That's pretty much what mine do. It's not terribly noticeable to other people because my lips swell about that much when I first wake up in the morning. But they feel weird when I run my tongue over them and I can feel raised bumps though you can't see them. Then the bumps go down and my lips peel for the next few days.
It looks like it is in the Revlon lip butters too and I know I react to those. You may be on to something.
My lips get flaky when I have a reaction, primarily around the edges on top. It just happened again yesterday and I haven't determined the culprit yet.

That's exactly what mine do. Ugh. It sucks. I'll definitely look into that ingredient.
