After 10 yrs of avoiding pregnancy to switch it up to trying to do it (pun intended, ha) on purpose. I have to be honest, it weirds me out a little!
My body's still adjusting itself after the BCP so we're just sort of... practicing? for now. I'm glad we are though, because while before we just got to it whenever we felt like it, I'm starting to think about when I'll have to initiate things on something of a schedule. We've agreed that he doesn't need to know "when it's time"; I'll just hold on to that info myself to keep the pressure off.
It's an interesing time in our marriage, I will say!
I'm getting off BC soon and I'm already weirded out! I haven't had a period in 4 years (Ty mirena) so that should be interesting....
I don't get them either, (type of pill I'm on coupled with really light cycles before pill) Im not so thrilled at the thought of them. I remember they aren't so fun

Had the same convo with my mom (we're pretty open with each other) and she said that it was a strange feeling. You spend all your youth avoiding pregnancy and suddenly you're trying on purpose. Haha. My thought is to have fun with it!
I've had this same thought recently. H and I have been together for 14 years... and for most of that time, we always doubled up on birth control (the pill and condoms). It's so weird to basically do the opposite of what we've always done since we started dating when I was 17! Reckless is EXACTLY the word I would use.
It definitely feels weird. I mean, to be honest, I knew exactly how NOT to get pregnant, but really had no idea how TO get pregnant. Reading these books has been like a refresher in freshman biology...but is very good learning!!! And yeah, H is getting into it and is being really cute about the whole process.

Exactly, V - In the mid-late 90s when I was in jr high/high school it was the "epidemic" or so they said, of teenage pregnancy, esp where I lived. Coupled with the AIDS awareness taking off, they DRILLED and DRILLED and DRILLED into our heads about safe sex. I went to a school of nerds, no one was having sex anyway, so I don't know who they thought they were talking to, LOL. But there were NO teen moms in my high school, so something must have stuck.
There's something about ignorance, raging hormones and the exuberance of youth that we might be needing to recapture here. I wonder... LOL
I just went off my BCP on Friday! We aren't going to start really trying until my cycle regulates, but we will be using condoms, which we haven't used in forever, so it's going to be odd. And then transitioning to the part where we don't avoid anymore will be strange, too, I'm sure!

Weird for sure. I've absolutely always used condoms, with everyone I've ever been with, including DH. The whole not stopping for a condom is already weird and then leaking afterwards. Lol. I'm slowly getting used to it, but really, very new and weird experience.

We had one teen mom. Her name? You guessed it -- Chastity. You can't make this sh*t up.
