I'll try to explain. I normally wear powder foundations. Liquid breaks me out (no clue why). I love the initial look of some liquid foundations or bbs. But after a couple hours I am oil slick city. So primer w/ powder helps this. Except I've been noticing that the powder is accentuating some dry areas more recently. And now my chin and really my forehead are oil slicks.
Is there anything to help this or am I just SOL? Looking for more skincare and MU advice here. It's not like I can use powder in some areas and liquid in others, lol.
I hate to recommend this but the PC BHA might be part of the problem. My skin usually can handle some serious chemical warfare but after a few weeks of use the 2% liquid turned my T zone into a terrible oil slick. At one point it was so bad I could feel my nos oiling up during the day. Once I cut it out of my routine and switched to the Ole Hendricksen Night Gel my skin started to even back out again.
carrotsmakemefat what percentage is the BHA foam? Is it 4%? Maybe you need to go lower if so.
I have dry skin, so this will be different from yours of course, but I use the 2% BHA gel daily and then the 10% AHA once a week to get rid of any dry patches because in my opinion, AHA does a much better job smoothing and exfoliating the surface of my skin.

I'd have to go look, it's the BHA weekly foam
I thought mixing AHA and BHA didn't really do much? I heard that on a PC radio segment or article.
Or maybe I don't need the weekly treatment at all.
That is what she says. I find that my skin needs occasional AHA though. Probably because I'm so dry and my skin turnover isn't great. Part of it's probably aging too (texture change). But I find AHA to be beneficial despite what they say.
Don't know what I would do without PC. Now if I could find a primer that works for dry, oily. And acne prone. Lol
Try Amazing Cosmetics. I got a foil sample of that recently and the texture was unlike any I've tried. It was not lotion-y like primers that are good for dry skin but not silicone-y or powdery, like most other primers. It was in between.
Also my two cents - I used to think I had an oily t-zone and dry everywhere else. I would get painful zits, awful dry skin patches, and oil fields in the t-zone. I discovered the following things are terrible for me: gel based cleansers, too much exfoliation, and products with salicyclic acid.
I discovered I was over-treating my skin, causing dry and oily flare ups.
Since I switched to foaming and cream cleansers, and once a week exfoliation followed by a moisturizing, calming mask, my skin has improved.

I have the same skin as you and I have noticed a big difference when I use kinara lactic acid hydrating serum several nights a week and Murad matifying lotion as primer. Lisa eldridge recommended the kinara serum. I've been using it for two years now and it's really made a huge difference especially on my chin.
