This may be a long shot - we just moved and need to get internet. Cox and Wow don't service our area, AT&T won't do it without U-verse (and we just finally got rid of all things AT&T), so the only company we can think of is Time Warner. My family has them now and are not happy with their service. Does anyone use a different company? I'd love to know if there is another company out there that I don't know about.

I'm in the south Cleveland suburbs and we have time Warner. We don't have too many choices. I think I pay too much but service is ok. I lose it periodically but it's not horrible.

I'm pretty far from Cleveland, but our other option is Windstream. They were fine and the customer service is better than TW. They didn't raise the prices at the end of the year like TW. They just couldn't get good internet speeds in my area, but I live in a more rural area.
I never had any problems with TW's service. I never have outages unless the power is out. I only have the standard internet and it works fine for streaming Netflix while using other devices. I just hate that they double my bill at the end of the promotional period. I can call in and usually get that price back, but they try to sell me tv service and phone service. I also don't like the modem fee and digital receiver fees. I feel like not including that with the advertised price is misleading.
I didn't even think of direct TV. I'll look into them. I'll also look into windstream. Thanks for the suggestions.
H and I have been wavering on just getting time Warner. The website states the promo price, but not the normal rate. When we called and asked, we were put on hold for a while, for them to come back and say "umm, maybe $10-15 more, but probably no more than that." H told them they were sketchy for not being upfront about their prices. Plus, everyone we know who has TM says they have really inconsistent service.

We have had time warner for 8 years and have only experienced outages a handful of times - less than 10 for sure. Speed is good too. Their infrastructure seems very solid in this area. They're being acquired by Charter in a couple of months, so I'm not sure if that changes anything.

I am not in Cleveland, but ohio. I hate time warner. We are canceling once uverse comes to our area. As much as I dislike att, I like them more than time warner, plus it is cheaper and more reliable service.we had uverse for Internet for years before moving.
We got a great deal on directv through costco. Not sure if costco is in Cleveland yet... If you go to stores like best buy with directv salesmen, they can give you the actual cost, which is at least double the promo price. Costco was the cheapest out of all the stores during the first year and then future years were cheaper. Make sure you get the 13+ month pricing, because they do 2 year contracts and only the first year is the promo.
