I'm sure this is pretty common, but it's been a while since it's happened.
What books have you started that you could not put down? Like literally reading every spare moment you get?
I started And the Band Played On and I was not expecting to become so consumed by this book. I usually don't have that much time to read on the weekends chasing around my two-year old. But every minute I could I kept picking it up. It's a little out-dated, but it was fascinating and terribly depressing how the AIDS epidemic started.
I agree about Gone Girl and the Night Circus. I didn't know who to believe in Gone Girl.
I bought a $2.99 Amazon book about a man and his boarder collie. I think it might be self published but I'm really liking it. It's called The Story of Rose. I don't know why I torture myself with dog stories.
I was completely hooked on Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver. Probably my favorite book I've read this year. Before that the first Game of Thrones book and Hunger Games. I've missing getting completely obsorbed in a book. Maybe I'll give Gone Girl a chance or the rest of the Game of Thrones books.
11/22/63 and Water for Elephants. I am trying to make Madame Tussaud be a book like this for me, and I do really enjoy it, but it is not as fast paced as I usually read.
Outlander (I've only read the first) was like crack for me. I.HAD.TO.FINISH. And when I was done, I swear I had the shakes for a week. The story really pulled me in.
I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that the Sookie Stackhouse books really pulled me in. They're just so easy to read.
