Our fed taxes were submitted on 3/18. Basically since that time, when I check refund status, I see a notification that the return is being processed, and a refund date will be provided when available.
Has anyone experienced this? Did it eventually get moving again and you got a refund date and refund?
We don't have a complicated tax situation, but I just wonder if this is a bad sign!
I had this with my state. We filed in Feb and for weeks it was just in process forever. Then one day it said refund would be processed 3/13 and on that day the $ was in our account.
We are currently dealing with this for our state taxes. Ours are "being reviewed." What we were told is that they pull some returns for "desk audits" and are basically just manually checked over to make sure it all looks okay. We filed through turbotax, which had issues earlier in the year in Our state due to fraud, so I'm not surprised.
Select the reason you need a transcript, it doesn't really matter, just pick one.
Under "Account Transcript" click on "2014".
Go to the very bottom under transactions and it will give you an idea what they're doing. There should be a 3 or 4 digit code and a description with the latest happenings on your account. You can Google the codes for more info.

When mine takes forever I've usually messed something up, usually the repayment of the Homebuyer's Tax Credit. I'm not sure why, but TT always asks me if I took it and want to repay it, and I always say "yes," but I guess in the past two years it doesn't deduct the right amount? I always get credited the adjusted amount. This time it must have been fixed, though, because we got our deposit about a week after we filed.
If you are getting a refund - it is SLOW. I got a letter from the IRS 2 weeks after submitting my tax return saying there was an error and that I owed an additional (small) amount of money ($72) . So if you owe - they are super fast!
