That's what an SA told me and scanned my license. I actually has a $25 item and he said are you sure you want your one return to be this? This was in early January, so maybe they changed the policy.

Interesting, I've always given my license for non-receipt returns (I remember the days they didn't ask that - which was crazy lol).
Oh wait, I've already returned twice this year without a receipt (sephora gives me little motivation to keep the receipts, although last time they did nicely ask so I guess I'll try...). Wonder if different stores are enforcing in different manners?
That's crazy. I know I've done returned more than $25 worth of product without a receipt and never had a problem with it because I pulled it up on my phone in my Beauty Insider account. I'm also usually doing an exchange in those instances so I guess they're happier to still be moving some product instead of having to give me a refund.
