I've been on the skinny jeans hunt, but many of them feel really tight on my wide calves. By the time I size up (usually from my butt/thighs/calves), the waist is normally too loose.
This weekend, I went to J Crew Outlet, and I tried on their ankle toothpick jeans- they are the FIRST pair ever to not hug my calves, yet still look fitted enough to be skinny jeans. Even better for me, they’re the perfect length for skinnies (28” inseam). They also flattered my body type well (first skinny jeans pants EVER), and weren’t uber tight on my butt (I normally need to wear a longer top to cover my butt since it’s normally tight and accentuates the large booty that I have), and looked really nice. The first I’ve ever been like- wow, maybe I CAN pull these off.
They were $89.50, and 20% off, so $71… in my opinion, I didn’t want to spend that much money on them since I know I won’t wear the skinny jeans often enough, but thought I’d throw my review out there. However, I’ve been thinking about them all weekend so I might just need to go back and get the pair.
Fwiw, I ordered the Paige Skyline skinny jeans, and they just looked so bad on me So not even premium leggings can help this body.
eta: I still need to try on the F21 (and other suggestions made when I posted last week), but just wanted to give my opinions on the J Crew toothpick jeans I tried on
