For me it was applying under eye concealer in a V under the eye. I know this tip has been around for awhile, but I was doubtful. It's genius though, it works wonders.

Yes! I started doing this after watching pixy0stix's everyday contouring video. It made a big difference for me, too.

I don't think I even mentioned why I was doing it, did I? That's just the way I've been applying concealer forever.

Another vote for pixy's contouring video. It really helped me figure out where/how to place cheek contouring.
One I ran across a few days ago was for eyeliner -- to use a pencil first to get the line you want, and then go over it with liquid liner to get the definition/darkness and reduce your chances of messing up with the liquid.
Rather than use a brush to put on my finishing powder, I use a puff to press it in. For whatever reason, makeup doesn't stay on my face (use primers galore, non-oily skin) but this makes things stay so much better.

I do this. On the flip side, a technique I used for years with great success on my crazy oily eyelids was to use a liquid liner or wet brush dipped in powder to line your eyes, let it dry, then smudge over with dry powder for a softer line that stays in place all day.
Putting eye primer under eyes to help keep concealed from settling into fine lines.
Ooh! I've been meaning to ask about that. It looked so good when the MAC lady did my concealer, but for me, it ends up cakey and showing my fine lines.
I want to see Pixy's video! Pity posted the goss video a while back that got me setting my moisturizer before foundation. That has been great for coverage and reducing oxidation.
Tell me about this. I just apply my moisturizer several minutes before my makeup but I don't "set" it with anything

That sounds good, but I bet it would give me bumps. Does anyone else get those? They are basically permanent raised bumps under my eyes from clogged pores. Some concealer a will cause them. When I'm done breast feeding I need to go to the derm to see if anything can be done.

milia? do you rub your eyes a lot?
Yeah, I think that's what it's called. I definitely rub my eyes. Not sure what would be a lot. It only happens when I wear certain products though. Eye moisturizing gel was the worst.

A little bit of almond oil under my eyes after using moisturizer makes my undereye concealer go on smoothly and seems to keep it from settling into my lines. (I use Lorac Porefection concealer these days, FWIW.) Moisturizer alone doesn't do the trick.
