It was only in the high 70s so not super hot but he wore a sleeper home from the hospital. For most of the summer he was just in onesies. Pants were for seeing guests.
I had DS in early October in FL, still humid and hot. I put him in footie pj's, a blanket, and the knit beanie he received from the hospital. But he was going from the hospital right into a car with a/c and then into a house with the a/c on too.
I think it was probably 100 degrees when I had him.
He wore a long-sleeved onsie, pants, and socks home. I just threw a few outfits into my suitcase and didn't really think through the temperature thing. It was fine...the hospital was cool, we had the AC on in the car, and changed him once we got home. He was also still having a little trouble keeping his temp up, so I wasn't worried about over-heating at all.

DS2 was born in July and it's usually in the upper 90's or triple digits. Yuck! So he wore a onesie home. And pretty much only a onesie for the first month or two of his life. At night we usually just did a cotton swaddle and he only had a diaper on under it. The few times we did onesie+swaddle he woke up sweating like crazy.
I expect the same thing for DD, who will be born in late August.
DD was born mid-July in Houston and it was 92 when we took her home. She wore a very lightweight Feltman Bros. dress, the same one I and my sisters wore home from the hospital. Socks on her feet. No hat though I had one. I had a blanket to tuck around her.
DD1 (Aug) wore a onesie and soft pants that were ridiculously huge on her. I was not expecting such a tiny thing. DS (July) had a little shorts romper/one piece.
It was low 80s when C was born and he wore a cotton sleeper. The hospital was cool and he was in AC with the exception of the 20 sec it took going in and from the car
It was probably high 80's to low 90's when dd2 came home. She wore a long sleeve onesie and an A&A swaddle blanket. I had pants for her but even in the Ac it seemed like overkill. I have the same kind of outfit for DS to come home in (August).
DD was born in July. (In Wisconsin, so not the hottest ever, but it was still warm). For going home, I put her in this pants and long sleeve onesie outfit but it was probably overkill. I was just nervous. The rest of the summer she basically just wore just onesies.

DD2 was born in August and DD3 was born in June. Both wore a long sleeve sleep and play home. They went from the A/C in the hospital, to the A/C in the car, to the A/C in the house so I wanted to make sure they were dressed for that instead of the weather outside.
