Things that they take off or are separated from them regularly. Yes she may need a change of pants sometimes but not daily so I wouldn't label every single item of clothing. Jackets should be labeled as well as blanket, lunch box, water bottle, or anything else she brings.

I label her coat and her backpack. There are only 7 kids in the class and 2 teachers. And DD1 knows to grab her sweatshirt if she has one on that she takes off. But for a kid under 3 I definitely would label anything they could take off that you are worried about.
They make me label everything. I even have to write her initials on the diapers I bring each week. I also label her sippies, extra set of clothes, jacket, lunchbox, etc. and there's only 3 other kids in DD's 1 year old class!
I label her extra clothes (kept in a labeled ziplock in her labeled backpack, lol), her diapers, her shoes, her lunch tupperware, her sippy cup, and all jackets/cardigans/coats. I don't label the clothes she wears to school, that would not be remotely feasible.

I agree. We labels coat, hat, sunglasses, hoodies, spare clothes, backpack, cup & the random toys he insists on taking.
