My niece's birthday is coming up. She'll be 11. I got the 10% coupon and she loves bath things and lotions. I also think my sister may allow lip gloss (clear). Are there any brands that are good and not a complete waste for this age group? That's one area of Sephora I haven't really explored. She also likes Lush I guess, but I'm hoping to get closer to Rouge for 2016
What about the Fresh sugar lip treatments? I've never had them but I don't think they leave a lot of color on the lips. Neither does the Benefit Benebalm I have... and they have three other colors... Posiebalm may be a good choice. Or some Philosophy body wash? Bare Minerals has a gloss in their Marvelous Moxie line that looks holographic in the bottle but goes on fairly clear... It's called Hypnotist.
Now, I will preface that recommendation with the fact that my Hypnotist gloss did some weird sh*t and purple dots showed up on the outside of the tube, as shown in this thread:
Still don't know exactly what that was... if it was a fluke manufacturing issue, if something on my lips wiped off on the applicator and reacted with the pigments or if I created a test tube of some kind of deadly flesh eating bacteria... I just don't know. LOL I thought I had pitched the tube but I found it in my desk drawer. I stirred it up like someone in that thread suggested and the dots have not reappeared, and the ones left that didn't get mixed back in have not grown any bigger so I'm guessing it's not bacterial colonies like I thought when I first saw it. LOL But I'm not exactly sure I want to take the chance by using it either.
You could also do hair products/tools/brushes or nail polishes, depending on what mom deems appropriate.
If she likes Lush and one of the suggestions was bath things. I would probably at least pick up a bath bomb for the gift if the store isn't far from you.
I like the suggestion of Fresh. They also have Tony Moly which is a Korea brand with cutesy packaging. Like hand cream in fruit packaging. They have a lip balm in the shape of lips and fruits.
If color isn't allowed, definitely stay away from the Fresh Sugars. They have maybe one that is a clear balm, but the rest leave (sometimes significant) color on. I will second racegrrl's suggestion of Philosophy body washes and lotions. They have some great scents. Maybe some L'Occitane bath products or hand lotions? What does mom think about nails? You could do some polish and tools for that.
I was going to suggest the philosophy body wash stuff because it can also be used as bubble bath and they have fun scents. If you search for bath or lotion, tons of options come up. Nail polish seems like a good option too and if she likes roses the Dior Creme de rose lip balm is amazing.

The closest Lush is an hour away in a direction I never travel. I'll have to see what shipping is like with them.
Thanks for all of these suggestions so far! I can definitely work with these! She's allowed whatever with nails, so I'll check that out too.
Same my store is an hour away too. And when I'm in the large city it's not near the location I'm in. I've been trying to go for a month without luck.
Deborah Lippmann has fun glitters. Not sure what your budget is. But my 9 and 12 year old neighbor girls love anything neon or glitter.
Also, Besame has vanilla translucent powder. It doesn't leave any sort of color, but I know I had greasy skin at that age & I loved to put on a dab of powder for special occasions. And this stuff smells good too!
