Is this possible?
DD has a cut on the tip of her finger and I'm concerned it's getting infected. If it were my finger, I would put on some neosporin and a band-aid and see what it looked like in the morning. I'm worried she would just suck/chew it off and then ingest neosporin, choke on the band-aid, and die.
Is there something else I could try before making a dr. appointment? I feel like I must be missing something obvious.

If it's swollen or very red, I might call the doctor.
If it's just a deep cut or just pink, I'd probably wash it well, put a bunch of neosporin on it, then either try to keep it out of her mouth or put a baby sock (or mitten if you have one) over her hand. I wouldn't try to put a bandaid on -- even my DD at 3 can barely keep a bandaid on her finger since her fingers are so small.
Neosporin won't hurt her if she ingests it in small doses. When I had really cracked and blistered nipples from nursing, I used to put a mix of neosporin, hydrocortizone cream, and an anti-fungal cream on my nipples. I would wipe it off before nursing, but my DD definitely ended up eating some of it.
I would do it at night once she is asleep, I've done this before and then I put a sock over that hand. I was also worried because DD is always playing in the sandbox and I was worried about it getting infected.
