I saw something yesterday claiming that she's four days overdue, but since they haven't released her due date to the press as far as I know, I'm sure it's just speculation.

Dammit, I was hoping to share my birthday yesterday with the royal baby!
mrshandy, will bump up that thread with our predictions. I think I also have to update the OP in that thread too. But yes, most people predicted earlier dates so relatively few people are still in it to win it.

I'm out - I had picked the 22nd. It's their wedding anniversary tomorrow, so that would be cute.
Someone brought coffee and pastries to the people who've been waiting outside the Lindo Wing all week, claiming they're from the Duke and Duchess as a thank you for their well wishes. Some of the Twitter accounts I follow say that Kensington Palace confirmed that the treats were indeed from William and Kate, although I don't see an official tweet from Kensington Palace. And the pastry boxes were wrapped in PINK ribbon, interesting (although who knows if the bakery just did it themselves, since I highly doubt W&K would request it): www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/royal-baby-news-kate-william-5595474
The Palace will send out official tweets when Kate is admitted and another once she gives birth: twitter.com/KensingtonRoyal
Twitter was also abuzz this morning because there were police/bomb-sniffing dog sweeps at the Lindo Wing, and now Kensington Palace press officers are hanging out outside. However, they're also noting that this has happened in previous days as a security precaution, and the KP press officials insist that there is no news right now.
I picked yesterday. :/ I should have known. I think I picked something like July 24 or July 27 when she gave birth to George (July 22) and most people had picked the first two weeks of July. So a lot of people thought she went past her due date with him. Who knows.
Now I think she's in it for the long haul. The baby will be here in May. Probably not May 9. Although that's the best birthday in the world. Just ask Billy Joel.
BUT that's obviously not my official guess because it won't count now. Hopefully I still have a shot at the sex and the name!
I know she'll have the baby before I arrive in London (at least, for her sake I hope she does). Part of me is bummed that I won't be there for the birth and the hoopla around it...and part if me is very relieved I won't be there for the birth and the hoopla around it.
I get there 5/12 - maybe I'll just get to see the end of the hoopla??
She's a week past my guess, but I still contend that Mathilde would be an awesome name!
Beautiful name, but waaaay too Belgian.
There was an Empress Matilda and a few queens consort named Matilda as well, so they could use the Anglo spelling. Maude and Edith are listed as alternatives to the name Matilda, too (although one of William's extended relatives - who's married to the actress who played Zoey on Two and a Half Men - just had a baby named Maud).

Love the name, no matter the linguistic variant. Of course you know I was just giving a royal shoutout to the extant Queen Mathilde .
I do know about Empress Matilda and the Queens Matilda before her. Edith being listed as an alternative to Matilda stems from Anglo Saxon Edith of Scotland being renamed Matilda once she became queen to Henry I -- the name Matilda coming into vogue with the arrival of the Normans, most notably Edith's MIL and godmother, the prior queen: Matilda of Flanders.
I would be beyond shocked. Remeber that as the baby is in the direct line of succession QEII gets approval of its name. Its pretty much pro, forma but I don't see William going to her and saying we want to name the baby after a woman you hated who caused you no end of problems no matter how much he might want to. Frances as a middle name is a possibility but Diana would be really unexpected.

I agree, I think using Diana as one of the names (especially first name) would call way too much attention to the kid and I doubt they want that.
I also kind of feel like they're steering clear of using immediate family names, since George didn't receive any. With the possible exception of Elizabeth.
