If you contour & highlight, what products are you using?
Some of the makeup youtubers I watch use different techniques. Some use a concealer and some use a kit (i.e. Anastasia or Kat Von D). What type of product do you find is more helpful when blending? Something liquid based or powder based?
I use either Bobbi Brown eye shadow in Cement or Becca liquid bronzer to countour and Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector to highlight. I'm pretty pale so the Cement looks natural (it's a matte gray/brown), but I also have dry skin so the liquid products can look better than piling on powders. The SSP can be nice to blend in with my foundation, too, if I want a more dewy effect in general.

I got the Laura Mercier contouring kit at the Sephora sale and love it. It's powder, not cream. I think I would end up looking like a clown if I tried to use cream. Lol.
related - I've been thinking about picking up the Maybelline fit stick foundation in a darker shade to use as a contour. Weird idea? Good idea? obviously it wouldn't have the cool tone of a true contour shade.
I get intimidated when looking at those contouring palettes. i ended up just buying the kevyn aucoin sculpting powder and have been using it sparingly.

I've thought about it but I just haven't done it. The consistency of the fit stick is pretty similar to that of NYX's wonder stick so I'm sure it would work.

I've been using the Anastasia contour kit, but I wouldn't buy it again. I'm not crazy about the highlight colors for my skin and only use two of the three contour colors. I'd suggest finding just one matte bronzer color to contour and then a highlight color that you like.
My favorite bronzer for contouring is Tarte Park Avenue Princess (there is a sparkly version, so if you try it, be sure to get the matte!). I then use Benefit Watts Up to highlight - but I only highlight my cheekbones. if you want to do center of forehead, down the nose, cupid's bow, I'd try a cream. Becca makes an illuminating cream that gets great reviews. The only area I really notice a difference in when I highlight is my cheekbones, so I don't bother with anything else.
