I bought this purse at Nordstrom's (http://m.shop.nordstrom.com/s/michael-michael-kors-hamilton-large-saffiano-leather-tote/3311703) in black. I bought it because I hated my diaper bag and wanted a nice purse instead. I wore it for about a week and it worked when I was at work, but not with my daughter. It is beautiful and I really love it, but I really need a purse with a zipper for this stage of my life. I was in denial at the time and put it in the dust bag in my closet. I was going to return it awhile ago, but my husband convinced me that I should keep it. I was going through my purses today to change mine because my daughter's entire water bottle leaked in the one I was using. I realized that now that I'm pregnant with #2 and I SAH I am not going to be using this purse for a long time. I would rather get a bag that works for this stage of life. I know Nordstrom has no return policy and no time limits on returns, but I don't want to take advantage. It is in brand new condition, I have the tags, and the receipt. Is it ok to return it?
Not a board I typically post on, but I wanted to weigh in:
I would go ahead and return the bag. Nordstrom has a great return policy and you have the tags and receipt. You should get the return in the form that you paid, but even if you received a store credit it's still better than having the bag hang around in your closet or going through the effort of trying to re-sell.
No. You used it for a week. I don't understand returning things like this because it didn't work out exactly as you needed it to. Sometimes you have to suck up a bad or unnecessary purchase, especially once the tags come off.

It's not in brand new condition, you used it for a week. I would sell it on ebay or CL if you want to recoup your money.
Seriously, I know that no raindrop believes it is responsible for the flood, but stuff like this does eventually cause stores to change their return policies.
Thanks for the advice. You guys are right. I felt funny about it, but I did buy at Nordstrom because of their return policy, so it seemed silly to not use it. I will save it or sell it.
how long has it been? not that it matters really, i'm just curious.
it's in new condition and you have the tags and receipt and only wore it for a week? return.
if it were me i absolutely would. i spent too much damn money at nordstrom to not use the return policy when i feel it's warranted.
I'm in this boat. Nordstrom has earned their reputation for great customer service for a reason - if you aren't happy with something, they want to make it right for you.
I had a pair of Tory Burch flats that were maybe a year old, but the sole was splitting - beyond normal wear and tear. I took them to store, hoping they would just fix them for free. And they gave me a brand new pair, no questions asked. I also bought a new pair of boots while I was there, but my point is they pride themselves on excellent customer service to create loyal customers for life.

I would take it back, and try to spend the money in store. Maybe they can help you find a more suitable bag. Even if you returned it that first week, it was not sellable since it was used.

It probably could've (and still might be able to) go to the Rack.

Having taken it out if the house I'd probably feel weird about returning it, but for expensive purchases I sometimes will wear something inside the house for a bit to make sure it works.
