Or at least, I live in constant fear of looking sloppy. Either smearing, bleeding, weird fading, etc.
I LOVE bright/bold colors on my lips, but I spend all day being afraid I look like a drunk drag queen. Also I have kinda thin lips and there's this weird balancing act I do where I try to get the color RIGHT UP TO THE EDGE to maximize what little lips I have, and then being afraid I look like I'm trying to do a hot pink Kylie Jenner.
So...lip liner might be my friend. though I have yet to put one on that I don't hate because it makes my lips feel like sandpaper. But how does that work with touchups? Do people bring lip liner with them and redo it after lunch? I can't believe I haven't figured this out yet, but I haven't.
cab1217 your bold lips always look amazingly precise - what's your routine? Both initial application and touchups as needed.
I wear bold lipstick almost every day. It's my jam. I use Nyx retractable lip liner in nude, outline my lip, and then color it all in. Then I put the lipstick on over that and use a setting spray. I touch up as necessary. I also make sure to put my finger in my mouth, close my lips around it, and pull it out after I apply. Keeps lipstick off your teeth.
I feel like when I use that trick I end up with visible unlipsticked lip area. Perhaps I just don't know how to properly ducklip.
My lips are sad. Which makes it sadder that I love bright colors so.
ETA: So when you touchup - you just touchup the lipstick, right? You aren't at work redoing the whole routine.
