My mom has... Well, she has an unfortunate brow problem in that she over plucked for so long that she basically has to draw them in. She's been forever using the little red Maybelline eyebrow pencil, in blonde (despite her brown hair).
She asked me for brow powder for Mother's Day because she wants to try something different. I use the anastasia brow powder so I thought about picking that up but decided I would pop in here to see if you all had any better recommendations.
My mom has the same issue with her brows from years of over plucking. I have very thin, light brows myself, just genetically. I have had micro pigmentation done last year (fancy version of a brow tattoo) and now I get them tinted at my hair salon (1x month). You can see from the FOTD photos what they look like. I fill them in with Anastasia brow whiz in between appointments.
So no hair at all or a little bit? I use the Nyx brow mascara, plus a little bit of brow powder. I have dark brows with bald spots, so the powder fills them in and the mascara gets all the hair going in the right direction. But if there's no brow, well, there's nothing for the mascara to stick to, lol, so I'd just stick with the powder. Maybe get her a setting spray, too?
She has hair, it's just really not much and it's a thin line if that makes sense.
The setting spray is a good idea- she does a full face of makeup everyday and maybe that will help her tone down the heavier powder use.
I use the IT gel pencil. It's listed as a powder gel because it's easily to apply and push around and ends up with the natural look of a powder. I love it. (Fwiw, I'm blonde and it's the only thing that works for me so far)
I am appreciating the responses as well. My mom has no brows or lashes (alopecia) and is recently interested in me figuring out how to make that less noticeable. She won't do fake lashes. She is extremely low maintenance, what with her never wearing makeup ever and the no hair;)
I may just pick up a few options and since there is both an Ulta and a sephora near her she can keep what she likes and return what she doesn't think will work for her.
Thank you all! But keep them coming if you have other suggestions!
