I started the process with them about a year ago and, I can't really put my finger on it, but the agent rubbed me the wrong way and just seemed very pushy. I'm sure they're commission based and that's fine. So I restarted the process again today and got the same feeling. I asked how I knew I was getting the best deal from him and he said I just needed to trust him I've worked with brokers before in a totally different situation, but I understand how it works and they usually give the top 3 best deals. This guy just gave me one and was like blah blah blah, this company is great, legit, let's schedule your physical and what's your CC info.
So again, I don't have a great feeling about them. But they also make the process very simple. Are there any other life insurance brokerage firms like them? Or do I just trust them and hope I'm getting the best deal for our needs.

fwiw, here's our quotes: I'm 36 and dh is 37. We're in great health. 1 mil each for 20 years is about $1K a year. (a little less... 9 hundred and some change)
Thanks dr.girlfriend - I'm going to look into zander as well.
I didn't, but I also knew exactly what I wanted. I was told by my agent that they are paid directly by the insurance companies, not by customers. She called and emailed to follow up about some documents and whatnot, but they are time sensitive, so it didn't feel pushy, just efficient.
Yes, I found them pushy and not very receptive to when I told them was convenient for me to talk. I think they are on the west coast, I am on the east coast, and it was not working at all. We ended up going through MetLife. Our actual policies are with MetLife for LTDI, and with other carriers for 30 year term.

zander insurance will do the same thing for you, and you never have to speak to a person. you can enter your details, get the quotes and go from there. or you can talk to a zander person (they are helpful and not the least bit pushy).
I didn't have any problems with the agent I worked with. I ultimately didn't buy life insurance yet but did get car insurance. They told us our home owners was actually already with the cheapest company.
Yes, I did when we were shopping for DH's policy. I ended up telling the guy from Select Quote to stop calling me and I'd call him when we had made a decision. He was calling me daily and driving me up the wall. He didn't stop calling so I just went to the company I have mine through (ING/Voya) and got a comparable rate through them.
Mine wasn't pushy at all. I mean, he followed up and whatnot, but he wasn't in the least bit pushy about it. Then again, I knew for sure I wanted insurance, so I guess with that mindset, I didn't really need to be "sold," you know?

Hmmm.... we have our physicals scheduled for Friday. I wonder if I should shop around a bit. I mean, any lower amount ea month really adds up over time when you figure that I'm going to pay just under $20K for life insurance over 20 years.
We just barely started the process with an agent and I was completely turned off. The guy called house phone and cell phones no fewer than 5 times, by the end leaving us a message that basically implied that if we didn't get life insurance ASAP, DH would die and I'd be screwed. OK buddy, thanks.
