I admit that I sometimes contemplate adopting the French beauty approach and whittling down to just a handful of products, but then I think, why would I want to do that?!
Also, whenever these French style or French It girls type articles appear, I think about Charlotte Gainsbourg and how she looks terrible most of the time.
Hahaha, of course French women are just so naturally beautiful they don't NEED to contour.
I put bronzer under my cheekbones because I have a fat face. It adds about 20 seconds to my routine. Judge me all you want, French women! I would try more contouring, but I don't have the skill.
And I'll admit that pre-MUT (where I only lurked), my attitude was that I didn't want to look like I was wearing makeup because then I'd be trying to hard, and I should just be happy with how I look, for the most part. So I do understand that philosophy, but playing with makeup and doing something different every day is actually a lot of fun! And I don't have to be in the office until 10, so... lol

The fact that the majority of well known, long established cosmetics companies are based in or have roots in France leads me to believe that this heifer is lying to herself.
But France lies to themselves regularly so you know.
I can accept this as another beauty philosophy but bragging about this is just silly. Makeup is a form of artistic expression and rocking a deep purple lipstick does not mean the person doesn't accept themselves or are artificial. wtf!
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime. Mark Twain

My thoughts exactly. And a strong lip looks so much better with a made up face. You don't need a ton of make up to achieve that look either.

It's like you know my soul.
(heart) Another reason why we're friends. I swear, sometimes we share the same beauty brain. Except for blush. haha! You love blush much more than I do.
I can definitely appreciate the French approach on some levels and they do have many nice beauty products. They also have a long and respected tradition of caring for their skin starting at a young age, but their simple/IDGAF overall routines are not for me.
As an American, I am proud to say MOAR is MOAR!!! when it comes to beauty products. lol.

Best part is I decide to be French, simple looks/products, so I purchase a dozen more products to try to achieve that LOL.
