We all know about Sephora and Ulta. But I'm wondering if there are other places that have good promotions, regular sales, good gifts with purchase, etc beyond just the obvious. Like is there one store that consistently has good sales or freebies where you buy all your products from a certain brand, or a website known for having regular sales that's great for hair care products, etc.
My list of things that I want is a mile long, and I've now got an expensive, multi-product skin care routine. I really need to find other sources for my stuff and I'm wondering what your secrets are.
I will start.
Thanks to forreals, I have discovered the Skin Store, where I was able to get 20% off First Aid Beauty skin care stuff. I am now going to start watching them for sales and try to buy most of my FAB stuff from them. (The sale is still going, and they have lots of high end brands of skin care and makeup.)
While I've not ever bought anything from their website, Smashbox has an Ulta coffee break style give away two days a week, where they give out a few deluxe samples with purchases.
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime. Mark Twain
Beauty Brands. I get emails from them all the time with $3-$3.50 off a $10 purchase. They also have % off from time to time. I haven't seen much from them regarding gifts with purchase.

what is FAB? face and body?
I used the Skinstore sale to get Skinceuticals! $$$
I use skinstore.com, beauty.com and dermstore.com for various beauty items that I know I will keep for sure, but will get Nordstrom to price match their percentage off promos if they carry the same item just in case I may have to make returns. I have also used folica.com for hair product purchases and price matching from Nordstrom as well. I purchase things online as much as possible to go through ebates or mrr rebates to get that extra "percentage off" even though it's sent every couple of months.
fyi -30% off at dermstore.com with code "save30today" (there are brand exclusions, but I don't have a list of what they are)
I've had great luck with free add ons and samples from Nordstrom. I'd love to start buying elsewhere but sephora is my default because it's just so easy - everything is in one place.
In Canada, Shoppers Drug Mart. They will have sales, and points that can go towards free product. The bigger stores are carrying more and more higher end products.

FAB is First Aid Beauty. I use their face wash, night cream, and oatmeal mask.
I need a cheap place to buy Bumble & bumble. That is a major money drain. Especially now that I've decided that Surf Spray is the greatest styling product I've ever used.
ESF, do you have a Cosmetics Company Outlet near you? They carry most of the Estee Lauder brand products with a small but unpredictable selection of Bumble and Bumble.

Good to know! There is one that is not convenient for every day shopping, but still close enough for a special trip. It is where I met heyjude. This means another GTG.

My hair is so very fine, but I have a decent amount of it. Surf Spray is probably my only daily product. I don't really use it as directed. I spray it all over my wet hair before I blow dry and the result is decent. I don't get greeneggs hair, but at least more body than I do without!
ESF how do you use the surf spray? I have it and haven't used it much, but would like to.
I let my hair dry without a blow dryer. When it is almost dry or dry, I spray it all over. Then I twist my hair up and clip it up. I let it sit like that for as long as I feel like doing. Sometimes I will pin it up for 20 minutes, take it down, shake it out and run my hands through it, and repin up.
When I let it loose, I run my fingers through my hair a bit and voila. My hair has so much body and texture. And it holds really well without feeling gross and weighed down.
If I am going on day two (or want to freshen up for evening activities), I just give a light spritz, repin, and remove again.
I saw this NC post earlier and got one of the cases. It's actually $10 but with the current 60% off coupon (good through tomorrow),* it's $4 + tax. I tried pots from MAC, MUG, Coastal Scents, Inglot, and Morphe, and they all worked. This will be good for travel.
*Joann's almost always has a 50% off one item coupon on its website.

I was just at the cosmetics company store today and bought the surf spray. It was $14.50 for 4oz.
I also bought a new Mac fluidline.
I didn't even look at the lipsticks. :sheer willpower:
