I signed up for a 5k in October with my work so I'm motivated to stay with the plan, because realistically the only way my lazy ass will finish it out is if other people see that I suck.
I feel like I'm having an inner battle of my two evil traits of competitive and lazy.
I'm starting tonight! Did you like it? I'm a little scared because I legit dont excersise at all. I need to get healthy and drop some baby weight (seeing as how they are almost 2 years old)
I haven't used an app yet, I was able to put the interval times into my watch and it rings and vibrates when it's time to switch off. I think I'll get the app when I'm jonesin' for some music!
Yay! I'm literally doing week 3 day one as I type. The app is amazing! It does gps and times the intervals and yells at (or encourages) you. I usually do it outside but today I'm on the treadmill watching honey boo boo as I do it.
It really makes you feel good about running. Its like okay, this isn't terrible. Alright I'm running, wooooo!
I once read a runner's rule book by Mark Remy in which he said, basically, that people who say this don't really get what running is all about. And I was all "What?! I can't hear you over Britney! Fuck you!"
I've always hated running, and never understood how people could enjoy it so damn much. I've been reading some blogs and reviews for C25K and apparently it can help you see the "meditative" side of running.
I get enough zen meditation from my boxed wine, so we'll see.

Yay! You'll love it. I graduate on THURSDAY! I can't believe that 9 weeks ago I could barely run a minute and now I run for 30 minutes straight. Incredible!
Don't be afraid to repeat days or weeks if you have too.
Good for you! You can totally run a 5K by October. I hated, hated running and could not even run a mile until 2 months ago. Once you start, you really get hooked.

I honestly can not speak highly enough of the c25k program. I loved it.
My one piece of unsolicited adivce is to not look ahead at the weeks. Just take it one week at a time. And (ok, 2 pieces of unsolicited advice) go at your comfortable pace. Don't think that you have to run 8 min/miles during the running part. A slow jog is just as beneficial and will keep you from hating the running.
Nama- when are you free Thurs and Fri? We can do dinner Thurs night, but I work a half day on Fri so we can do a brunch or something after 12 if it's easier.

Fuck you, Mark Remy! You don't understand the joy of Flo Rida personally encouraging me to "Right Round" this corner.

Good for you!
I actually used to think that I couldn't run without music, but I've been doing it more and more recently. I did a 7 mile run last weekend with no music and it was awesome!

Well, I'm one of those people. My H on the pther hand, always runs without music. He says I'm ruining the moment. Especially last time, my earphones were broken and I just put the music on without them. It drove him nuts, he kept accelerating to run away from me and my music. lol. Madonna is my running partner.
Good for you! I didn't know there were apps for this (I should have guessed there was!). I'm going to look into it. Running scares me, I'm always worried that I'm doing it wrong.
RUNNING BEAUTY TIP: I've started putting Vaseline on my feet right before I run. I'm sure this would be unspeakably disgusting if your fett sweat a lot, but mine don't and I don't have cracked heels anymore. Yay!
I've started really running recently and I'm doing my first 5K next month. I worry I'm not doing it right, too, but there's no running class or anything to teach me mechanics, so I just go.
