This is going to be epic!

I posted about it on FB and my aunt wants to come watch! My grandparents lived and are buried in charleston so the place is really meaningful to my family.

Mr. Wambam and I agreed that the flight down there will be my Christmas present this year. Off to look at kayak!

Is everyone doing Friday-Monday? I feel a smidge guilty about taking off for a 3-day weekend and leaving DH to solo parent, even though DH insists it's fine and I should do it. Someone please rid me of my guilt so I can buy my plane tickets.

Okay, I arrive in Charleston at 11:48AM on Friday. Is anyone going to be there around that time?

Unfortunately, the only flights home on Monday are the UNGODLY hour of 5:30AM.

Dont feel guilty. Its ONE long weekend. All the cool kids are doing it. And yh will be fine!

I think this would be really helpful in terms of sharing cabs/renting cars/finding rides to the airport and the like.

I still need to pull the trigger on my flight. I'll probably do it in the next few weeks. I'm cheap, but I don't want to get stuck with a layover or weird times. Why can't a one way flight at noon be super cheap?

Can someone please remind me of the costs for the house and everything? I want to make this work and I tried to look at the spreadsheet and everything, but is that $114 just a deposit for more or is that the amount? For how many nights? Is everyone doing fri-mon? I may need to do fri-sun but I guess I need to check Charlotte and charleston.

Also, most are doing the half?
If I do the full and I'm slow (still depressed over my first full time) - will everyone leave me to die on the course? Lol. I plan to train hard all winter but still no guarantee I'll be very fast.

As of now im doing the full. Theres shrimp and grits at the end. Ill be eating for a long long time. We dont have grits in new jersey

The tickets are hovering around $300, which is what I paid last year. But last year, I randomly found a $250 flight that I didn't buy and kicked myself for. So I'll hold out till Thanksgiving-ish.

I love hanging out at races until the end. I like to get my money's worth and I think cheering is almost as fun as racing. Usually if I am rushing off it is b/c of the kids, and that will not be an issue in Charleston (insert gif of overly excited, crazy person)

taratru fuckyourcouch Just so you know, it's about 4.5 hours drive from Atlanta to Charleston. I don't know if that turns you off, but seriously, I'm happy to have either/both of you along for the ride.
