Yayayyyy!!! Congrats, les!!! I'm so happy for you!
I don't have any brags or news, yet!!! Still waiting for baby to make her arrival. At least this is my last week at work so hopefully I can enjoy some time to sleep and relax before my due date on 5/16. I was convinced she'd show up early but looks like I was wrong! Now I think she's perfectly comfortable to stick it out until well past my due date.
Let's see.... I am still pregnant and probably will be forever. We are completely moved out of our house in MA and it is going on the market this week. Elijah is in the middle of a word explosion and repeating everything, including when I said "oh shit" yesterday. Whoops! I am really liking my job. The organization is going to be featured on the cover of Reader's Digest Best of America edition this summer, which will be great for fundraising. I work in the office 12 hours a week and another 8 hours a week at home. Despite being home most of the week I feel like I get nothing done though and I feel really strapped for time and like I never do anything fully.
My husband is not working today and I convinced him to do something he hates, go to Target with me. I am hopeful we will get lunch and maybe Costco, too.
I suppose my brag is that I've been juggling a lot of balls both for work and the Sorority this past month and haven't dropped any of them. We did just establish a new colony at UAlbany which has dominated a lot of my time both having to go out there a few times and lots of email correspondence. We're super excited as we haven't brought a new group into the Sorority in about 5 years.
I decided to be wild and treated yesterday like a Friday night and went out drinking with a co-worker. I do have to say although I had the spins a bit last night I'm doing pretty good today. Maybe I'm not too old to rally on occasion.
I also cannot wait for this semester to be over. I'm over incompetent departments, whiney students and colleagues who aren't pulling their weight.
Not too much going on with us, just pretty baby focused all the time! Babies just turned 6 months which feels like it flew by. They had some flat spots on their heads which we had to get checked out by a facial/cranial surgeon, nothing major but they do need to wear helmets for the next 3 months or so to help their heads round out. They've been doing great with them though. We're all going to Chicago in 2 weeks. I have a work conference and DH is coming along with the kids. I'm hoping to see Rikki while I'm there!
Hi! Sorry I've been MIA for awhile. I had my baby on 4/8 and he's been keeping me busy ever since I've been checking in via the app but it's annoying to type from my phone so I've just been reading.
Being a mom has been awesome and stressful and exhausting. I'm glad the weather warmed up so I can go out for walks and get some air. My little guy is great, putting on weight like a champ and getting super alert in the past week.
For me - not a whole heck of a lot. Job is going well, busy. I can't wait until July. It's basically our month of peace before busy season starts once again.
I am going to take my first crossfit class next week. I may die. I'll be honest and refuse to buy into the whole crossfit thing because, while I do think it's a great work out, I think the 'lifestyle' they basically push on you is insane. I refuse to be one of those crossfit people.
I should add that we listed our condo last month and we went under contract the same day for over list price.
And we put an offer in on a new house for us last night and we just found out it was accepted!!! It's just down the street from my parents (which we are excited about).
We resigned our lease and are sticking around for another year and I am going remote next spring and we will move to Rhode Island. So still not going very far:) We are also heading to Hawaii two weeks from Friday for our last pre-baby vacation!! 10 days in the sun sounds PERFECT after my busy work travel this year. After we get back we will have all summer to prep for baby girl (Stella James) until her September arrival.
Love reading all the updates, I think this should become a regular occurrence.
S has about a month of school left, thank goodness. She and her teacher have not gotten along. I had to call her dr today to make sure my child isn't a psychopath because she threw a temper tantrum (which was totally avoidable IMO) on Tuesday. I already knew it, but my child is not a psychopath Her babysitters' last week was this week, then we have a gap, then a new girl starts until S starts summer camp.
I"m miffed again at her school because they wait until the last minute to plan everything. They sent out a flyer yesterday that they're doing a mini summer camp for the first 3 weeks of June. I would have like to know that earlier than May, as I'm sure most of the parents have already made plans.
OK, good stuff. I'm still knitting socks (see my post in the Crafts board) even though I'm out of my latest competition. I'm making kilt hose, for me! I'm so excited. Someone mentioned they would make great boot socks too, so now I have dual purpose socks. Another competition starts in June, with all proceeds going to Doctors Without Borders, I"m all over that. And a designer sold a shawl pattern for Nepal earthquake relief, so I"m working on that when I have a few minutes here and there.
We just got back from a trip to PA to see the ILs (ugh) and S's birth family (yay). It was a good trip but very, very busy.
Work is still good, this gig was one of the best decisions I've ever made. They're sending me for a quick trip to Dallas in June. I just realized I'm traveling once a quarter, which is just fine with me. Totally manageable.
DH and I are still planning to go to Ireland in the fall, I just need to update my passport before I can make concrete plans. I really need to get that done. My parents are going to come watch S, yay!
LoveTrains, what's going on with the interview process at the uni? I'm sorry there's no good news to report, but I just don't get what's going on. I'm so frustrated for you.
Argh, I was typing a post and then somehow the tab got closed.
So the update is basically nothing. I am pretty sure at this point I am out of the running.
