So I am another reader who was totally consumed by Gone Girl. I could not put it down and that rarely happens to me. I immediately bought the author's other two books, Sharp Objects and Dark Places and felt the same way about them. Did anyone read any of her books who can recommend something similar? I just loved her style of writing, the dark themes, and the unpredictability. Thank you
Yes! I was obsessed with her books and found these kind of similar:
Into the Darkest Corner by Elizabeth Haynes Still Missing by Chevy Stevens (her other book, Never Knowing, is on my TBR list) In the Woods by Tana French
I'm scanning through my list for more, but those are the ones off the top of my head.
I read Into the Woods a couple years ago and really liked it. I tried to read Still Missing but didn't really like the writing so I never finished it : \ . I will try Into the Darkest Corner though, thank you for the reccomendation!

I haven't read Gone Girl yet, but I did read Into the Woods. I thought it had great potential and was really into the story for awhile but ended up pretty disappointed. Without giving any of the story away, I felt like the anticipation kept building for the main character's underlying story and then there was never really any resolution. I thought the ending could have been much better.
Hm, maybe I'm not remembering Into the Woods correctly. I read it three or four years ago I think? I gave it four stars on GR though so I just went by that when I rec'd it.
