Hi all. I am short with a relatively small waist, but ample hips and thighs. The outside of my thighs can only be described as saddle bags, unfortunately. Are there any jeans that will look good on me? I have a couple of pairs of trouser style, but they just end up making my whole leg look fat. After the thighs, my legs are okay.
I've tried on boot cut and I love that they nip in at the knee and show that my entire leg isn't fat, but it seems that all I can focus on in the mirror is the width of my hips. (I do notice that proportion also with skinnier people too, but their hips are thinner!)
Any specific suggestions for style, brand, etc? I just don't want to end up with mom jeans.

Go try on some different "curvy" style jeans. Gap has some, Talbots has some. I think the better quality jeans tend ot have better fits. I also heard Not Your Daughters Jeans are good. Wish I could be more help. I am definately hippier but it tends to just be trial and error for me. When I go jean shopping I have to try on like 20 pairs just to find 1 or 2 that fit well.

I find the "curvy" styles make it worse. I like a few styles that Lucky Brand has to make my hips look smaller. Also, try mid-rise instead of low rise or "natural waist." Those seem to work better as well.
I'm shaped a lot like you. Straight leg (not skinny) or trouser jeans probably would work best. I have had good luck with Kut from the Kloth jeans. I've tried Not your daughters jeans and I just don't like them. The rise is too high or something. Eddie Bauer has a new line of jeans than I am thinking about trying.
Also jeans that have less stretch help a lot to smooth and straighten the lines out. The more stretchy it seems the more pronounced. I bought a pair of jeans the other day that had no stretch in them and they do amazing things for my body.
