I'd probably give them a friendly call to see if it was received, since you sent it through the mail, the postal service loses stuff all the time. If they say yes then I'd be all, "oh, okay, just checking because it hadn't seen it post yet..." and hopefully that prompts them to cash it.
I feel you though. I hate when people don't cash checks. We had to write a check for FIL's funeral expenses since the funeral home didn't take cards. It took them over three months and that was only after I called to complain. It was driving me absolutely insane because it was so much money just sitting in our account that I couldn't touch.

I don't understand this. You know that the charity received your check and you know that money is no longer yours. Why does it matter when they cash the check? Is this a pitfall of only using online banking and never balancing your checkbook?

The money is there (in my checking out) and I know it's no longer mine but I want it gone. It's more of just an annoyance because checks are valid for six months and I really don't want to have that much just sitting there. I like to move money as much as possible so it is either 1) paying a bill/debt or 2) in savings and again, I know it's no longer my money but it bugs me just sitting there (fwp?)
I wouldn't call in this instance. You know they have the check and the charity may have a process or schedule for depositing checks. Your personal annoyance doesn't trump their process. You know it isn't your money so it doesn't matter if it isn't sitting in savings.
It doesn't matter now because I went in to look at my bank account just one more time before calling (even though I checked this morning, which is what prompted me to make this post) and it has cleared.
Clearly they lurk here and finally deposited it after reading your post
