For the last couple of days, DS has been pretty reliably projectile vomiting after breastfeeding. The thing is, he doesn't do it after bottles of breast milk. I'm feeding mostly in a crossbody position, but have done football hold as well. Sometimes I'll leave him laying down for a while before sitting up, sometimes I sit him up immediately. He pretty much always vomits within a couple minutes of finishing eating.
Any thoughts? I'm not sure what the difference is or why this is happening.
Yes, very much so. I just think it's weird because he's not really had this problem before. Should I try to express right before he eats to get rid of that first letdown?

I would pop my kids off when I felt let down and let the milk spray into a cloth a bit.
Can you feel your let down? Mine feels like a pins & needles sensation like if your leg falls asleep.
Both my kids got much better at accepting the flow as they got older.
I do that too, for the most part. Sometimes it's still going a little when I put him back on, but I generally do that because he's fussing at not being fed. I feel the letdown the same way, but only sometimes.
I'll keep plugging away at it. He's obviously keeping enough down, so I won't worry too much. It's more annoying than anything because it generally means a change of clothes for one or both of us. I am getting better at catching it in a towel though.

My son had trouble with letdown until about 3 months. When I could anticipate letdown I would pull him off and spray some milk onto a towel too. I'd also try to prop him up above the breast so that he had more control over the flow of the milk. It's something he outgrew pretty quickly. We struggled with letdown/major spitting up for about a month, and then he seemed to handle it much better.
