"Board" - I put that in quotations because my favorite non-video games aren't really board games. They are Telestrations and Apples to Apples. Both games need to be played with the right people. I'm sure my abs got some nice workouts from laughing so much playing those games :-)
Video - Definitely WoW. Started playing back in 04. I've taken some breaks but I always come back! I've also been playing Diablo III and I like it. I tried Skyrim on the Xbox and I can't get used to the controls for some reason! Maybe I should have gotten the PC version.. oh well.
I have Skyrim, but I'm just not sure I like it. I don't know if I haven't played it enough or what my issue is considering everyone else raves about it.
Elder Scrolls was one of the first games to follow the 'you can go anywhere and do anything!' model in Morrowind. I've found though, that if you get it for console you'll be generally lukewarm about it but if you get it on PC it's the best game evaaaaar! At least, I know I like doing archery in particular and it's hard as fuck to aim with those fucking thumbsticks.
I had Skyrim for the 360, and I wasn't all that blown away by it. I'm somebody who has a serious hard time accepting game freezes and other glitchy stuff, and Skyrim was loaded with those types of problems. It really takes away from "immersion." I expect that when a game hits market it should be a finished product, not a work in progress with multiple patches. (Sorry, excuse my rant )
Video: my list is long! In the past I loved the original Sims, Crash Bandicoot, and Jack & Daxter.
More recently I loved Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, Mass Effect 1, Dragon Age: Origins, an obscure game called Lost Odyssey that was a turn-based RPG, and a ridiculously cute kids' game called Viva Pinata.
Board: Bezzerwizzer, Pandemic, Last Night on Earth, Betrayal at House on the Hill (we like co-op board games) Card: Flux (Pirate and Zombie), Dominion, Bang! Compy: SWTOR, Portal, Sims Video: Lego SW and HP, Rock Band, Kinect Adventures, Borderlands
The Ratchet and Clank games are my absolute favorite....I still play them regularly on my PS2. I really want to get a PS3 just for these games, but DH is against it. I also love all of the Lego games.
As far as board games, Settlers, Agricula, and Puerto Rico are a few of my favorite.
