I am wondering if listening to other people's stories and finding someone that I can relate to would help me to start feeling comfortable opening up about my own crap.

and i think a really good thing for you to go to. understanding that what he did was not your fault is huge. and talking with others who have been there and are coming out on the other side just like you can be very empowering.
I'm not sure of the back story, but I am happy to hear that you are taking care of yourself. Sit and listen until you are ready to take part. It's a process. Take good care of yourself.

Yes it will. When you know you're not alone it's so much easier.
