Hi ladies! May 26th seems to be the best date to have a GTG this month. Since I only have a couple more weeks left in Somerville, it would be nice for me to meet all of you somewhere in this area if everyone is okay with that.
Who is able to join in?
Any food preferences or suggestions for dinner locations?
It's your 'hood, you must have an idea of where to go! I'll try to join but will have to play it by ear.
And no apologies for location. You know the rules--you plan it, you get to dictate the terms!
True! I keep going to the same places in Davis so it would be nice to try something a little different. I'll check Yelp for Harvard and Central Square restaurants.
I'm meh on the Boathouse and think it's a bit small if we're a large group. Plus I think their bathroom is a onesie which I'm principled against (but won't stop me from going). My top 3 are:
Rosebud Russell House Tavern Park Restaurant (only 3rd because I was there recently but I love it there)
Flatbread is fun, low key and they have bowling. I love Posto and Russell House Tavern too. Rosebud may be small depending on the size of our group, but then again I haven't been there in ages so I could be forgetting what it's like inside. I don't know any of the others.

Why are you principled against a onesie bathroom? They are my favorite!!
I just called Rosebud and they said they can accommodate a late group (I gave them an estimate of ~8). Let's plan on having dinner there on the 26th. Can everyone make it at 6:30 or 7?

Because it's anti utilitarian - public bathrooms are public and meant for people who need to use them. There's always someone or two women who think it's for preening and take 10 minutes without any consideration that someone else might have to use the facilities. Also in Boston, old architecture and extreme temperature warps doors and makes them stick. More than once I've waited outside of a onesie thinking its occupied when the door was just sticking or, on the contrary, have attempted to break into a onesie thinking a locked door was just sticky.
I purposely chose to do my Mug Club at Parish over Bukowskis for two reasons- 1-Parish takes credit cards and 2- has three toilet stalls

Huh, I guess I just don't go to hip places where people preen in the bathroom. I love onesies because there is more space, etc. I always feel so squished in a regular sized stall, plus I hate it when people are peeing next to me or there are people having a conversation in the bathroom. I hate having to share the sink, etc. My absolute favorite is when they have 2-3 onesies that are both for either gender so men/women can just interchangeably use whatever bathroom is available.

I can be there!
I can be there around 7 - I'll be coming from a workout class. Sorry!
