Highlights or AW's to share? Only 150 miles to go to my first 1000! Mid way point!!!!!! Wahooooo
I have a 5k Monday. It's been almost 11 months since I've run one and I'm scared! It's a great gut check for fitness level, but damn it's going to hurt.
M: 6 miles, HIIT/strength circuits T: 10 miles w/3x1m @ 5k W: 4 miles, kickboxing Th: 12 miles, piyo Fr: spin, strength Sa: 8 miles Su: rest

What are you training for? Date? Run to Remember Half (5/24), Newburyport Half (5/31), Baystate Marathon (10/18)
Training plan for the week? Mon - massage/rest Tues - track Wed - either 3 or 6 miles Thurs - rest Fri - rest Sat - 3 miles and expo Sun - Run to Remember half!
Any issues or vents? I've been completely exhausted lately, sleeping 8-9 hours a night and still struggling. And the pollen is out of control.
Highlights or AW's to share? I had a good track workout last week.
Monday: rest Tuesday: soccer Wednesday: swim lessons Thursday: short run Friday: bike ride Saturday: bike ride Sunday: probably nothing
Vent: my 5 miler race on Saturday was soooooooo humid I was dying shortly after mile 2. DC humidity got me!
Highlight: I did bike patrol for the Girls on the Run race on Sunday and it was so awesome. The lead girl finished in just over 21 minutes (she was amazing!). It was so great to get up to the end and be there as the girls made the final turn into the shoot and see them take off for the finish. Such a fun morning.
Other: I'm very tentatively thinking about exploring a sprint tri. I found a beginners training plan that is to get people up to being ready to start an actual training plan. I think especially with no races on the calendar now, I'm going to follow that for a few weeks starting in June and see how it goes. Gahh that's terrifying to type out

Highlights or AW's to share? Finally got out on my bike this weekend and it felt so good. I definitely felt it in my legs after, but it was a good kind of sore.

Hope you don't mind me posting. It's been a while since I've been on here at all.
What are you training for? Date? Niagara Falls International Half 10/25
Training plan for the week? 30-40 min runs Tues & Thurs (depending on how my hip feels, see whine vent below), 3-4 mi Sunday, Strength training TRFSa
Any issues or vents? I basically did not run all winter, but instead focused on losing weight and gaining strength, and eating cleaner. I have not had any issues with my hip, so I thought I was past all that. On my run on Sunday, I was good until the last 1/2 mile, when I started getting that old sting in my hip. Did yoga yesterday instead of my usual cardio/strength workout, so if feels a little better, but is still sore. I'm going to the chiro on Wed. to get things readjusted, and maybe talk about a gait analysis.
Highlights or AW's to share? HFR - Despite all the hills and hip issues on Sunday, my pace was better than at the height of my half training last year, so even though it is still really slow by many people's standards, it will only get better as training goes on. NHFR, but I put on a dress yesterday that I haven't worn in about 2 years. It fit better yesterday than when I originally bought it.
1) 5K 5/31, Peachtree 10K 7/4, Possible marathon 9/13
2) M - swim (yup, that happened)
T - 8m
W - 10m
Th - cross
F - rest
S - 13 w 8 at mp
Sun - 5m + gym
M - 10m
3) Trying to sign Mr. GT up for army 10 miler, the website sucks..... I'm guessing this race will be a lottery next year.
4) I slept in this morning rather than running. IT WAS FABULOUS!!! I am sure I will regret it at lunch time. We are also going back to TCing at work, so I will be able to get in my mid week long runs over the summer before work.
Fun! I desperately want to volunteer with Girls on the Run, but the Boston chapter never responds to my inquiries
Oh boo! I hope you can get a response sometime soon. Maybe when the spring 5ks are done (if they aren't already) and they have some downtime before launching into the fall?
What are you training for? Date? - I have a 5k this Saturday which should be interesting. Otherwise training starts in just over a month for my fall full.
Training plan for the week? - Ha training plan... What's that? I'm getting up at 5 to do the 30 Day Shred a few times this week for my strength training. Today is speed work, tomorrow is a few easy miles, I think Thursday or Friday I'll do a few easy, then 5k Saturday.
Any issues or vents? - I've really fallen of the wagon of caring about running. Hopefully this 5k snaps me into a competitive mindset again!
Highlights or AW's to share? - Ha nope. I'm hoping to place in my AG again on Saturday (this race is where I got my first AG award ever) so maybe I'll be able to brag on that next week.
Mon 2 mile run Tue 1500m OWS race + ride to make it a brick Wed 25 mile bike ride Thur rest Fri pool swim 70 minutes Sat 7 mile hill run with MRTT Sun rest
I'm still exhausted from my long bike/run brick on Saturday. I should have run 3 or 4 more miles last night but I just wasn't up to it.
I'm getting faster at open water swimming! Last week was a 10% improvement from the prior week.

What are you training for? Date? - bolderboulder 10k: monday - ragnar trail snowmass: 6/5-6 - revel Rockies half: 7/19 - Ragnar colorado: 8/7-8 - denver RNR half (probably, I don't want another full on a very similar course): 10/18
And whatever else I find in between
Training plan for the week? Following HH's marathon recovery plan. Nothing except walking until Thursday. Then I will probably try a slow 2 miler. Walk on Friday. 2-3 miles saturday. Maybe an hour sunday.
What are you training for? Date? Trail 5k series through early July. Woot woot, it ended up raining last week and they cancelled the race (lightning too), so I didn't miss one after all. Also have Ragnar Trails in August. I need something to motivate myself! I'm considering doing a 2-person relay in a 50M trail race, also in August, but it all depends on whether I get pregnant. Actually, at this point, it probably wouldn't matter.
Training plan for the week? Blah, basically nothing! H is OOT for work until Thursday night, so I'm solo with the kiddo. No time to run during the day, and no possibility for early morning runs. I'll do the race Thursday, then I have a long (13-14 mile) trail run scheduled for Saturday. Friday morning is TBD based on how I feel.
Any issues or vents? My left IT band is a bit tight; need to schedule another sports massage, but see above re: solo!
Highlights or AW's to share? I am settling in, and feeling super happy about the marathon. I'm a bit sad that H and DS missed me at the finish, and I had to ask for a photo after we got back to our rental. I keep checking the race page for photos, even though I also signed up to be notified when they're ready.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
What are you training for? Date? HM 5/31, July, and Wineglass
Training plan for the week? CF and cycling when I can
Any issues or vents? My knee is slowly getting better. I was able to run a little over a mile last weekend without it hurting during the run - but after and the next day was not so much fun. I'm going to try different inserts in my work shoes and see if that along with continuing PT (deep tissue/trigger massage) on my hamstrings, quads and calves will help.
What are you training for? Date? HM on 5/31, Trail Half 7/18, Wineglass HM Oct
Training plan for the week? Rest from running until Thurs or Friday, in meantime yoga, stretching, foam rolling and strength train
Any issues or vents? IT band pain cut my long run short. Had to run/walk the last 4 miles.
Highlights or AW's to share? Flip side of my vent- I was able to stay positive and focus on moving forward when my run got cut short. Still covered 7 miles and going slower let me focus on the gorgeous weather and just being outside- even though I wanted to just call DH for a ride home and feel sorry for myself, haha.
What are you training for? Date? BolderBoulder - 5/25, MCM - 10/25
Training plan for the week? M: rest, Tu: yoga, W: 5 mi, F: 4 mi, Su: 2 mi (this is all dependent on how my quads feel)
Any issues or vents? Um...my left quad is SO sore. I guess it's a nice change from my Achilles? Of course they're on the same leg, which means I'm probably broken.
Highlights or AW's to share? Insta PR on Sunday in the 10 mile race! I'm pretty pleased in retrospect, since I have *not* been doing what I need to do to even get close to running that way. I'm also pleased that I was able to double back and finish the full with my friend, which meant I did a 6 mile cool down after my 10 mile race for a total I haven't seen in a very very long time (which is probably why I'm so sore).

What are you training for? Date? GCBS - June 14th
Training plan for the week? Masters x2 M & Th, Masters W, F, and Sa, lake swim Sa.
Any issues or vents? This is such a total FWP, but I'm so tired of buying sunscreen. Swimming 9x/week means applying sunscreen 9x/week and I'm going through a full can of the spray-on stuff like every 4 days. Urgh. Also a FWP, but I'm getting unevenly tan thanks to sticking to only free. My back and the right side of my face are quite a bit darker than my front, the left side of my face, and my legs.
Highlights or AW's to share? I swam a continuous mile for time yesterday and came up with a 31 min/mile. That's not terrible for me, since it's in the pool, and means that there's a *chance* I might be able to get a mile under 30 minutes in OW, which is THRILLING. (Comparison: my fastest OWS mile is around 28 minutes and at that time my pool mile was around 35 minutes.)
